| Description | Purcell Elementary is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and organized Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide specialized instruction and support to students with mild-to-moderate disabilities in both inclusive and resource settings. We are looking for an educator who is passionate about advocacy, data-driven instruction, and fostering a Dragon Pride environment where every student can succeed. Key Responsibilities IEP Management: Lead the development of IEPs, including conducting initial evaluations, triennial re-evaluations, and annual reviews in compliance with IDEA and Oklahoma state law. Collaboration: Work closely with general education teachers to modify curriculum, implement accommodations, and ensure successful inclusion for students. Data & Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess student progress toward goals and maintain accurate records using OK EdPlan. Behavioral Support: Implement positive behavior intervention strategies and facilitate a safe, supportive classroom environment. |
| Required Qualifications | Certification: Valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate in Special Education: Mild-Moderate Disabilities (PK-12). Education: Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field. Background: Successful completion of a national criminal history record check. |
| Preferred Qualifications | Experience with the OK EdPlan system. Strong communication skills for building partnerships with parents and guardians. Familiarity with various assistive technologies and differentiated instruction techniques. |
