Description | Considering a move? Enjoy the outdoors - hiking, camping, skiing? Would you like a 4 day work week? Consider Rifle, Colorado! Serve as part of the school’s leadership teams including but not limited to, the Building Leadership Team, the School Support Team, the Special Education Providers Team, the Multi-tiered Student Support Team (MTSS) and help develop systems and plans to address school goals and challenges in working towards meeting the district goals of graduation and literacy. Work with the district counseling team and district Family Resource Center to provide shared leadership and expertise among schools, to support the role of counselor and to support students and families districtwide. Support intervention that includes academics, attendance and behavior. Work with school leadership to create, and facilitate an intervention program to address issues within the school environment. Be available for responsive services as needed and able to collaborate with school and outside resources to meet student needs as identified. The counselor should always be made available as a first priority for any crisis support request. Implement and provide as needed groups for identified needs: bullying, grief, mental health needs (SEL), divorce, etc. (work with outside resource if available or if necessary, however counselors can be trained to provided these groups and individualized goal focused counseling as short term interventions) Alignment with high school to collaborate for effective transitions to secondary programs. Supports the relationship between Garfield School District RE-2 and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with citizens, visitors, and District staff. Supports Garfield School District RE-2 goals. Assist in scheduling of students. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. Maintains regular and reliable attendance. |
Required Qualifications | Master’s Degree or higher in School Counseling as defined by accreditation by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling for Related Educational Programs (view information about CACREP Accreditation) or a Clinical Counseling Domain AND; Must possess or be willing to obtain a State of Colorado Special Service Providers License with an endorsement in School Counselor Ages 0-21 |
