Description

As a school-based mental health service provider, this position will be a part of OCIC’s team-based approach in sustaining each district’s multi-tiered systems of support to meet the needs of students and staff through collaboration, consultation, and direct services. This position will operate as an advocate for and support of equitable mental health services and facilitate the development, implementation, and communication of a shared vision of mental health that reflects excellence and equity for all students and their families. Positions considered under this umbrella include school counselors, school psychologists, and social workers.

Required Qualifications Maintains certification as a school psychologist, school counselor, school social worker, or other licensed mental health provider. May consider individuals currently enrolled in graduate school programs for school counselor, school social worker, or school psychologist and taking courses requiring field based experiences.
Preferred Qualifications Experience with or knowledge of Multi-tiered Systems of Support (i.e., OTISS, MTSS, ISF, PBIS).
Experience working in rural school districts.
Experience supporting professional development to teachers in behavior and academic interventions.
Experience in implementing grant funded programs and collecting and reporting evaluation data for effectiveness of program activities.
Experience providing direct services to districts regarding assessment, intervention, and consultation to best support students.
Experience or knowledge of implementing Functional Behavior Assessments and consulting with schools on the development of Behavior Support Plans.
Ability to identify evidence-based programs and quality research, as well as lead and conduct research in schools as related to grant-requirements.
Knowledge of expectations for each role as established by local, state, and federal guidelines.
Knowledge of ethics and practice in each role as established by respective national organizations for each role.
