Description

To provide individual psycho-educational evaluation in the areas of social and emotional adjustment, intelligence, academic achievement, sensory and perceptual motor functioning and environmental/cultural influences. The School Psychologist will provide a psycho-educational diagnosis and interpret the results of evaluations and other factors which influence the learning process. The School Psychologist will provide recommendations regarding placement, educational approaches and related services required to meet the individual needs of students referred. Provide parent counseling, group and individual counseling for students with emotional, behavioral or learning problems

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
A Master’s degree with a valid Oklahoma School Psychology certificate. Background areas should include psychology, education psychology, development, and/or education with extensive course work in individual evaluation and assessment.

Required Qualifications ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct individual evaluations and assessment of students referred to Special Services.

Review and evaluate data, evaluations and school records received from other agencies.

Works within assigned schools and the school district to assist in identifying all categories of exceptional children

Reviews and understands educational criteria and regulations as they apply to the assessment findings on the student in order to interpret that student’s eligibility for special programs as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

Makes proper referrals to outside agencies as needed, with administrative approval.
Confers and consults with parents and teachers whenever necessary and interprets psycho- educational services.

Prepares and submits required reports on exceptional children, psychometric activities, and special education programs.

Coordinates with personnel of community agencies in the delivery of services to school district patrons.
