Skiatook Public Schools is accepting applications for the position of Principal for Skiatook Intermediate Elementary which serves students in 4th & 5th grades.

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The principal will serve as an instructional and operational leader of the district’s 4th-5th Grade building. The principal will provide a clear vision for learning for all students; ensure a safe, secure and orderly learning environment; and cultivate strong relationships with and act in service to diverse stakeholders, including families and the community. The principal is expected to promote high-quality instructional practices, passionately enjoy working with students, and believe that all students can achieve. The principal is responsible for selecting and assigning staff, supporting differentiated professional growth and building the leadership capacity of staff. The principal must collect, analyze and use multiple sources of data to guide continuous improvement in student achievement, manage school operations, and effectively evaluate and develop staff.
Requirements:
- Valid Oklahoma certification for elementary principal
- Masters degree
- 3-5 year of administrative level experience, prefered

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Display a data driven focus on student academic and social and emotional learning through continuous improvement of instruction as evidenced by student achievement or growth.
• Develop, articulate, steward, and operationalize a clear vision for learning for all students and implement a strategic plan to accomplish that vision.
• Build and sustain relationships with students, parents, building staff, and district personnel.
• Facilitate communication between staff, students and/or parents when evaluating situations, solving problems and/or resolving conflicts.
• Manage a positive, orderly and safe building climate.
• Be visible and present throughout the school.
• Manage the fiscal, operational, and technological resources of the building in a way that focuses on effective instruction and the achievement of all students.
• Be responsible for the selection, development, engagement and retention of high qualified staff.
• Complete and discuss classified and teacher performance on a regular basis meeting the expectations of the performance appraisal process and timelines outlined by SPS board policy and Oklahoma Statutes.
• Evaluate qualified staff based on the Tulsa model using OKTLE.
• Provide teachers with timely and constructive feedback on classroom instruction to develop teacher practice.
• Delegate and supervise responsibility for various administrative functions utilizing the talents of other staff members to assist with managing the school effectively.
• Provide professional development for staff through observation, coaching and support to ensure a growth mindset for all; provide teachers with timely and constructive feedback on classroom instruction to develop teacher practice.
• Develop a culture of collegial and professional relationships among staff and students that promote critical reflection, shared accountability, and continuous improvement
• Serve as the building communicator for district information with all staff.
• Belief in student empowerment and willingness to allow students to play an active role in supporting the school’s vision and climate.
• Participate in Professional Development, PLC, workshops, etc. to gather and convey information.
• Support and attend school and athletic functions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Strong background in instructional leadership.

• Ability to develop and analyze complex reports with a strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in calculations.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced work environment.
• Ability to reflect on how to improve, self-awareness of strengths and weaknesses, willingness to take responsibility for actions and mistakes
• Highly collaborative team player.
• Empathy for the perspectives of students, staff and stakeholders.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, etc.) & Google Suites (Sheets, Docs, etc.)

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Regular office/school environment, including frequent use of electronic email, being able to sit for long periods of time without a break, etc. Normal effort of occasional periods of moderate physical activity. Work is typically performed in an office environment with some travel to other campuses. Interruptions are expected to occur often. Must be able to adapt and respond quickly to constantly changing technology.
