Job Description
Summary/objective
The Purchasing Agent is responsible for coordinating the purchasing process for the Purchasing & Maintenance Department as well as some purchases for other departments to ensure that procurement is fair, open and effective while maintaining the integrity of spending of public funds. The position is also responsible for office functions related to the day-to-day operations of the Purchasing & Maintenance Department.

Essential functions
· Obtains quotes, inputs purchasing requisitions, verifies invoices, and submits invoices for payment to the Business Office; opens and closes purchase orders as necessary
· Analyzes, maintains, and records purchases for the department to ensure the department stays within the allowed budget; tracks budgets for maintenance projects across campus
· Coordinates the preparation and review and/or solicitation of bids and bid specifications
· Coordinates quotes for board agenda items with the appropriate administrator
· Ensures purchases adhere to purchasing guidelines set by Federal and State law and the school’s board policies
· Prepare purchase requisitions for purchases assigned to capital plan monies
· Coordinates the public surplus auction process for the school
· Maintains custodial supply inventory
· Manages the appointment calendar for the Director of Purchasing & Maintenance
· Prepares board agenda items for the department
· Serves as the receiving clerk in the absence of the receiving clerk
· Answers departmental telephone calls as necessary

Work environment
The purchasing agent typically works in an office environment, but the mission of the school may require work other settings. A standard workweek is required but this position may also require evening or weekend hours.

Physical demands
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently required to remain stationary, move/position objects, move about the office, building and/or across campus. The position is required to communicate with staff, students, customers and others regularly. Employee is required to perform extensive work at the computer display terminal.

Travel required
Occasional travel within and outside of the Great Plains Technology Center district may be required for sponsorship of student activities, professional development, and participation in other Great Plains Technology Center activities.

Job Description

Summary/objective

The primary responsibility of the instructor is to teach their assigned courses to the best of their ability. This responsibility is greater than all other responsibilities assigned. The instructor shall devote all professional capabilities, time, and talents to provide a program of meaningful learning opportunities to each student.

Essential Functions
· Plan and deliver high-quality instruction: Plan and deliver engaging, rigorous, and standards-based instruction that is differentiated to meet the needs of all students. Incorporate relevant technology and project-based learning activities that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration. Maintain records established by the Oklahoma State Department of Health, Nurse Aid Registry, Oklahoma law, the Oklahoma State Department of Education, board policies, and administrative regulations.
· Ensure Student and Patient Safety: Lead instruction in long-term-care facility. Verify that all requirements are met by students to participate on the facility. Supervise student practice and guarantee the safety of student and patient.
· Uphold Nursing Standards: Remain up-to-date on graduation requirements for CNA candidates and adjust instruction for students to exceed the standard.
· Develop and assess student learning: Use a variety of assessment tools and strategies to monitor and evaluate student learning and provide timely and constructive feedback to students. Maintain accurate records of student progress and participate in data analysis to inform instructional decision-making.
· Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders: Work collaboratively with other instructors, school leaders, and stakeholders to develop and implement effective instructional programs and strategies that support student achievement. Participate in school and district committees and communicate regularly with students to build positive relationships and promote student success.
· Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment: Maintain a safe, orderly, and inclusive learning environment that supports the social, emotional, and academic needs of all students. Establish and enforce clear expectations for student behavior and conduct and address any disciplinary issues in a fair and consistent manner, especially while students are working in the lab area. During breaks and other times that the teacher is out of the lab, work on equipment shall be stopped and the lab will be locked. No one is to be left working in a lab during break time. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
· Engage in ongoing professional development: Stay current with the latest research, trends, and best practices in trade and industry education. Seek out opportunities for self-reflection and growth and be willing to experiment with new instructional strategies and technologies to improve student learning.
· Stay informed: Have knowledge of the rules, policies, procedures, and regulations governing the Great Plains Technology Center and ensure that these rules, regulations, and policies are adhered to by self and all students.
· Prepare: In the event of absence, notify the appropriate administrator at the earliest possible time. Maintain a current Emergency Lesson Plan.

Work Environment
The instructor typically works in a classroom environment, but the mission of the school may require work in other settings to include outdoors and at clinical facilities that provide patient care. A standard workweek as assigned by administration is required, but evening or weekend hours may be required to accommodate activities.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this position, the instructor is frequently required to move/position objects, move about their classroom, building and/or across campus. The instructor may provide patient care respond to emergency situations, student altercations, and communicate with staff and students. The instructor may be required to perform extensive work at a computer display terminal. The instructor must be able to lift 20 lbs. and stand for long periods of time.

Travel Required

Position Summary:

Responsible for coordinating and implementing the career preparation period program for new students, in compliance with government and management directives.

Essential functions:

Develop, prepare, and deliver career preparation lessons; use a variety of teaching strategies to meet student learning needs.
Recommend an appropriate training program for each assigned student, using background files, personal interviews, tests, and a variety of other assessment tools.
