The ideal candidate will have content knowledge in reading, writing, and social studies. This individual will work alongside our curriculum specialist, district academic team, and site leadership team. Interested applicants should possess a growth mindset, desire to be a content expert, and believe that all students can achieve at high levels.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must have at minimum a bachelors degree and at least three years of experience as a teacher and/or instructional leader.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to individuals who demonstrate characteristics of an ideal team player and currently hold a valid teaching certificate; have credentials in curriculum, instruction, and assessment as demonstrated by their graduate studies or certification areas; have credentials in educational leadership as demonstrated by their graduate studies or certification areas; have experienced success in the role of an instructional coach or educational leader as demonstrated by student data especially working with high populations of English learners.

Purcell Public Schools seeks a dynamic, team-oriented leader for our Special Services Department. This position provides guidance for our Special Education teachers, Building Leaders, and District staff on all things special education. An ideal candidate would have classroom experience as a Special Education teacher and a love for training and providing support to students, parents, and teachers. The Director also ensures the implementation and compliance of the District's special service programs in accordance with state and federal laws, Oklahoma State Department of Education objectives, and District policies.
Purcell PS is located in the heart of Oklahoma within a thriving and supportive community with a student population of 1465. The District has four school sites that cover PK-12th grade.
Required Qualifications
Oklahoma Teacher Certification in Special Education- or the ability to acquire
Valid Drivers' Licence
Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree, preferably in School Administration or another related Educational discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
Job Responsibilities:
1. Administer the District's Special Education program consistent with all legal and ethical requirements.
2. Attend meetings as needed to support building special education staff.
3. Conduct quality checks of IEPs and other paperwork.
4. Coordinate special services staff to meet the needs of students.
5. Guide the district in best practices for special services, including curricula, testing, and training.
6. Assists with the budget and staffing needs of the Special Services Department.
7. Works with building staff on 504 plans and processes.
