General Job Description: The Instructional Coach will assist teachers by providing direct support and assistance in the implementation of the District's instructional framework, use of data to improve student achievement, and align curriculum and instruction to Oklahoma State standards. Coaches will spend their time working with teachers and site administration to provide professional development that would include, but not be limited to, in-class coaching, observing, modeling of instructional strategies, guiding teachers through reflective practice, assessing student work, and developing instructional plans with teams of teachers or as individuals. The coach advocates for, facilitates, and supports the work of the teacher, but will not perform supervision or evaluation. The role of a coach is separate and apart from the evaluative role of the principal or supervisor of the teacher.

Qualifications:
*Current Oklahoma Teaching License
*Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited university.
*5 years successful experience as a classroom teacher with a broad spectrum of subject areas or levels.
Professional competence; mature judgment and ability to exercise individual initiative.
*Leadership qualities and the ability to form strong professional relationships with colleagues.
*Ability to manage timelines and meet time-related goals.
*Ability to participate in coaching professional development throughout the year.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provides effective communication with administrators, teachers, other school personnel
2. Works collaboratively with District and Site Administrator and teachers.
3. Provides district and school-level professional development in technology integration, project based learning, student centered learning, flipped classroom, etc.
4. Supports individuals and collaborative teams in their effort using data and research based instructional decisions to increase student learning
5. Models best instructional practices, methods, materials, and technology that promote equity and access to the content and have proven to increase student achievement, through classroom
6. Supports the administration in ensuring compliance with federal and state requirements
7. Participates in Team Meetings as needed or requested
8. Identify, model and lead the enactment of the District's instructional framework that support State target subgroups in the core curriculum
9. Identify, model, and lead the enactment of the District's instructional framework that support student with special needs in the mainstream curriculum

Work Environment: Must be able to work within various degrees of noise, temperature, and air quality. Interruptions of work are routine. Flexibility and patience are required. Job responsibilities may include both inside and outside duties. Must be self-motivated and able to complete job assignment without direct supervision. After hour work may be required. May make site or home visits when needed and appropriate. Must be able to work under stressful conditions.

Hearing/Speaking: Adequate to exchange information.

Responsible to plan, organize and implement an appropriate Math instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences and establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities. Responsible for working effectively with a team comprised of paraprofessionals, teachers, administrators, parents and District office staff with the purpose of providing quality educational services for each and every student, each and every day, without exception.

Develops and implements Individual Education Program (IEP) goals with students, assist with daily classroom or lab activities, including one on one and small group instruction, including supervision of students during non-classroom times.

Completes in a timely, accurate manner, roster and caseload reports, as required.

Completes documentation and charting required to measure progress on student IEPs per the schedule established by the District.

Continually incorporates the use of technology in the presentation and delivery of instruction to students.

Continually monitors and adjusts students’ instruction through the use of differentiation in such a manner as to enable the student to demonstrate proficiency toward state standards.

Demonstrate effective use of oral and written communications in the completion of daily assigned duties.

Routinely communicates with general education teachers in regards to specific IEP needs of students within general classroom environments.

Confers frequently with parents and professional staff members regarding issues that impact school performance.

Uses multiple measures to assess, evaluate and recommends placement of students in the school’s special education program.

Helps all students develop competence and confidence simultaneously through a balance of acquiring basic skills and developing conceptual understanding.

Monitors, supervises, coordinates and enforces rules of conduct and behavior for assigned students, and reinforces positive student behaviors in accordance with school and District policy.

Observes, evaluates, reports and records students' performance, behavior, and social development.

May need to teach behavioral skills, daily living skills, and/or adaptive skills.

Schedules para support and monitors paraprofessional duties.

Supports the relationship between Garfield School District RE-2 and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with citizens, visitors, and District staff.

Supports Garfield School District RE-2 goals.

Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
