Description | Job Summary: Key Responsibilities: Assist in the development and delivery of tiered reading instruction and interventions aligned to the Science of Reading. Analyze literacy data to inform instruction, monitor progress, and support MTSS/RTI frameworks. Collaborate with educators to design and implement effective reading strategies across all grade levels. Serve as a resource for curriculum alignment, literacy assessments, and instructional materials. OCLSD Grant Coordination: Ensure grant goals, timelines, and objectives are met and aligned with district and state literacy plans. Coordinate and deliver professional development required under the grant, including workshops, training sessions, and collaborative learning. Monitor and evaluate the impact of grant-funded initiatives on student literacy outcomes. Complete all required documentation, data reporting, and communication with the Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE). Qualifications: Valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate. Reading Specialist certification Minimum of 3 years of successful classroom teaching experience with demonstrated expertise in literacy instruction. Strong knowledge of foundational reading skills, comprehension strategies, and literacy assessments. Experience in coaching or mentoring educators. Preferred: Master’s degree in Reading, Literacy, Curriculum & Instruction, or related field. Familiarity with the Science of Reading, LETRS training, and structured literacy approaches. Prior experience with grant coordination or project leadership. Knowledge of OCLSD Grant guidelines and requirements. Skills and Abilities: Ability to analyze student data and translate findings into actionable instructional plans. Proficiency with digital tools for instruction, communication, and data analysis. Capacity to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet grant deadlines. Lead high quality evidenced based professional development. Work Environment: Includes classroom coaching, administrative meetings, professional development facilitation, and travel between schools (as applicable). Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for training or reporting. Salary and Benefits: Benefits in accordance with district policy and dependent on grant funding terms. Position contingent upon continued funding through the OCLSD Grant. |
