| Description | The Junior High/High School English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging instruction aligned to state standards for students in grades 7–12. This role includes teaching literature, writing, grammar, and vocabulary, while encouraging critical thinking, communication, and a lifelong appreciation for reading and writing. The teacher will assess student progress, provide differentiated support to meet diverse learning needs, and create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages academic and personal growth. | Required Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field from an accredited institution |
| Preferred Qualifications | Valid state teaching certification in Secondary English Language Arts (grades 7–12) Strong knowledge of English grammar, literature, composition, and reading strategies Understanding of state academic standards and curriculum frameworks Effective classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment Proficiency in instructional technology and digital learning tools Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, parents, and staff Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective teaching practices Ability to plan, assess, and adjust instruction based on student data and learning needs |
