Description | Tecumseh Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Trauma-Informed |
Required Qualifications | - Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field (Master’s preferred) - Valid teaching credential for elementary education - Professional development or certification in trauma-informed practices, restorative justice, and Neurosequential Model of Education is highly preferred - Minimum of 2 years of experience working with elementary-aged students, especially in environments requiring behavior management or emotional support |
Preferred Qualifications | ● Strong understanding of trauma and its impact on the brain, learning, and behavior in young children ● Ability to simplify complex concepts (like brain anatomy) for elementary students in an engaging and developmentally appropriate manner ● Excellent classroom management skills, with a focus on positive reinforcement and non-punitive strategies ● Passion for helping children build resilience, self-regulation, and coping skills ● Experience supervising and mentoring paraprofessionals or support staff ● A collaborative mindset and a commitment to building a strong school community |
