Superintendent Position – Vanoss Public Schools

The Vanoss Board of Education is seeking a dedicated, student-centered leader to serve as Superintendent of Vanoss Public Schools, beginning July 1, 2026.
Vanoss Public Schools is a rural PK–12 district in Pontotoc County serving approximately 540 students. The district offers the advantages of a close-knit community where relationships matter, students are known by name, and the school serves as the heart of the community. Vanoss is proud of its strong traditions, supportive families, and a shared commitment to doing what is best for students.
Students at Vanoss learn in a welcoming and supportive environment where educators are able to provide individual attention and foster meaningful connections. Staff members are committed professionals who value collaboration, stability, and high expectations. Families and community members actively support school programs and activities, creating a positive culture where students feel safe, included, and encouraged to succeed.
The Board seeks a superintendent who values community relationships, demonstrates strong instructional leadership, and understands the unique opportunities and challenges of a rural district. The successful candidate will be visible, approachable, fiscally responsible, and committed to transparent communication and ethical decision-making.
Required Qualifications Required Qualifications
• Valid Oklahoma Superintendent Certification
• Minimum three years of successful experience in school or district level administration
• Demonstrated knowledge of school finance, budgeting, and Oklahoma school funding laws
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with boards, staff, families, and community stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a Board of Education and implement board policy
• Knowledge of and commitment to state and federal education laws, OSSAA regulations, and ethical leadership standards.
