Position Summary
The Special Education Teacher provides individualized instruction and support to students with disabilities to ensure access to the general education curriculum and progress toward academic, behavioral, and functional goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with Individuals with Disabilities Education Act
- Deliver explicit, differentiated instruction aligned to grade-level standards
- Conduct progress monitoring and adjust instruction based on data
- Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusion and accommodations
- Manage classroom environment to support positive behavior and engagement
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with district, state, and federal requirements
Working Conditions
- Classroom-based with potential for small group and one-on-one instruction
- Requires flexibility to meet diverse student needs

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education (Master’s preferred)
Valid state teaching certification in Special Education
Knowledge of IEP development, behavior supports, and instructional strategies
Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
