Description

Gore Public Schools is seeking a motivated and student-centered Family & Consumer Science (FACS) teacher to join our middle and high school team. The ideal candidate will create a positive learning environment and deliver engaging, real-world instruction that prepares students with essential life skills.

Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver standards-based instruction in Family & Consumer Science courses (e.g., nutrition, culinary arts, personal finance, child development, career readiness, and life skills)
- Create hands-on learning experiences that connect content to real-life applications
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment
- Assess student progress and provide timely feedback to support growth
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance
- Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and community partners
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff
- Sponsor and support student organizations such as FCCLA (if applicable)
- Participate in professional development and school-wide initiatives
Required Qualifications - Valid teaching certification
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
- Effective communication and instructional skills
