| Description | Job Title: Secondary Mathematics Teacher (Grades 7–12) District: Paoli Public Schools (Paoli, OK) Position Type: Full-Time Reports To: High School / Junior High Principal Job Overview Paoli Public Schools is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and student-centered Secondary Mathematics Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fostering a positive, structured learning environment where students can master mathematical concepts ranging from foundational middle school math to advanced high school courses (such as Algebra I/II, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus). As a small school district, we pride ourselves on strong relationships, individual student attention, and a supportive community atmosphere. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Instructional Delivery: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, data-driven math lessons aligned with the Oklahoma Academic Standards (OAS). Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a safe, respectful, and functional learning environment conducive to student success. Differentiated Learning: Adapt the curriculum and instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of all learners, including providing remediation for struggling students and enrichment for advanced learners. Assessment & Grading: Formulate and fairly administer student assessments; maintain accurate, timely records of academic progress via the district’s grading portal. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other faculty members, administration, and support staff to improve overall student outcomes and school-wide initiatives. Communication: Maintain open and proactive communication with parents, guardians, and administration regarding student behavioral and academic progress. Professionalism: Participate in faculty meetings, in-service professional development days, and district-level events. Attend out-of-classroom supervision duties as assigned. Job Specifications & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate in Secondary Mathematics (Grades 7–12) or Intermediate Mathematics. (Candidates currently on an OSDE approved alternative certification pathway will also be considered). Skills & Knowledge: Deep understanding of secondary mathematics pedagogy and Oklahoma Academic Standards. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to integrate classroom technology (e.g., smartboards, graphing calculators, online learning platforms) to enhance student engagement. Demonstrated capability to build positive, professional rapport with adolescents, parents, and community stakeholders. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Ability to project voice clearly to be heard in a standard classroom setting. Must possess the visual acuity to read computer screens and printed curriculum materials. Occasional lifting of classroom supplies up to 25 pounds may be required. |
