Job Title: Chief Financial Officer
Master’s Degree with educational background in Business Administration and/or Accounting from an accredited university required. Five year’s successful work experience in related field and supervisory capacity required. Successful experience in educational institution work and familiarity with Oklahoma Public School Accounting preferred. Extensive computer background and experience required. Certified Public Accountant preferred.
Contract: Twelve Months (260 days)

Evaluates: Financial Service Personnel, Director of Transportation
Essential Job Functions:
Supervises the financial affairs of the district, including handling of all funds, accounting and reporting procedures and long-range planning.
Ability to maintain effective district-community relations and interpret the financial concerns of the district to the community.
Consults regularly with district personnel on questions relating to the district’s business and financial concerns.
Develop a fiscal year estimate of revenue and cost for operating the school system as recommended by the superintendent for Board approval.
Monitors all purchase order requests authorizing the expenditures of monies.
Provide accounting services, essential to the preparation, administration, supervision and control.
Arranges for audits of all accounts and records annually by an independent, certified public accountant selected by the Board
Supervises accounts payable process to ensure all School District payments are made in a timely manner
Direct all transitions involving the district’s levy, valuation changes and details regarding ad valorem.
Responsible for and works directly with treasurer when opening, closing and monitoring all checking and investment accounts of the district
Manages daily cash flow and oversees the investment and cash receipt functions.
Maintain control over all debit retirement and building site funds.
Administers an effective program of accounting of all State and Federal Programs.
Monitors federal, state, and local funding for district, including general fund, building fund, child nutrition fund, bond funds, gift/endowment funds, activity fund and sinking fund
Maintains current working knowledge of school finance policies and procedures to ensure that BPS is in compliance with all legislative and SDE mandates
Encourages and assists in planning parent organizations’ sanctioned application for parent fundraiser activities
Performs other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent
