Qualifications: Valid Oklahoma teaching certificate in assigned subject(s)

Job Goal: Provide occupational and personal guidance counseling and collaboration with teachers regarding classroom concerns.

Employment Terms: 10 month contract

FLSA Classification: Exempt
Evaluation: Annually according to Oklahoma law by building principal

Regular Requirements: Sit for extended periods; twist at the neck and trunk; bend and reach at, below and above shoulder level, repetitive use of fingers and hands to grasp and/or operate equipment; lift/move up to 15 pounds

Occasional Requirements: Walk, reach with hands and arms overhead, above shoulder and horizontally; lift/move up to 25 pounds

Visual Requirements: Close, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus

Hearing/Speaking Requirements: Adequate to exchange information

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with teachers to develop curriculum and present psychoeducation on pertinent topics.

2. Provide individual and group student guidance sessions as requested. Make appropriate referrals to community resources.

3. Provide age appropriate career guidance for all students, including assistance with college applications and scholarships.

4. Coordinate annual school enrollment.

5. Confidentially maintain accurate files and records regarding services provided.

6. Consult with teachers and administrators regarding best practices and appropriate interventions needed.

7. Consult with special services personnel regarding appropriate testing and interventions for special education students.

8. Regularly participate in appropriate professional development opportunities.

9. Utilize professional behavior in all school related transactions.

10. Comply with all federal, state and local laws and board policies and procedures.

11. Perform all other tasks as requested by supervisor.
