Description

An elementary school teacher is responsible for creating a welcoming classroom environment and for planning and executing daily lesson plans. Other duties are enforcing classroom and school rules, observe and evaluate student performance, grade homework and tests, and setting goals and high expectations for student learning. They also have to keep parents updated about their children.
Some important skills for an elementary school teacher is their ability to control a classroom, have empathy for their students, and be able to report their classroom progress to the principal.
