Description

The Instructional Facilitator of Counseling supports the mission of the district through supporting the work of our school counselors and providing leadership and direction to help meet the needs of students.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide leadership and coordination of programs assigned.
Evaluate program needs, and make appropriate recommendations.
Maintain awareness of local, state, and/or federal regulations and laws regarding programs, and assumes responsibility for their implementation.
Serve as a consultant to teachers, counselors, administrators, and other school and district staff for district guidance, counseling, and student support initiatives.
Collaboratively formulate policies and procedures regarding elements of the counseling program such as graduation requirements, crisis intervention, character education, and college & career advisement.
Provide professional development for counselors and other staff members regarding district initiatives and the comprehensive guidance and counseling programs of Mid-Del Schools.
Write grant proposals for title programs and other related services, and manage grant funds, as appropriate.
Work collaboratively as district liaison with community partners, such as Rose State College and Tinker Air Force Base to provide seamless transitions into higher education programs – including dual/concurrent programs while in high school – and for military families temporarily locating into the school district.
Meet regularly with counselors to ensure consistency and to identify and address common challenges and opportunities.
Act in a liaison capacity with DHS, law enforcement, and various referral agencies.
Train counselors to keep current, accurate transcripts, and conduct regular transcript audits to monitor accuracy.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications Master’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university
School Counselor Certification or Principal Certification from the Oklahoma State Department of Education
Minimum of 5 years combined experience in the area of teaching, counseling, and/or school leadership
