JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Network Engineer
Reports To: Superintendent

Job Goal:
This individual provides technology maintenance and support for district technology equipment including hardware, software, and technology integration.
Qualifications:
Preferred college degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, completion of study at a technical institute, or equivalent work experience.
Preferred two years of experience implementing large scale software and hardware network projects preferred.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
Excellent communication skills and experience in an organization with customer service orientation.
The ability to operate without supervision in assigned areas of responsibility.
A valid Oklahoma driver's license and the ability to drive to all district locations.
The ability to conduct light physical work requiring the exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects up to 50lbs.
Essential Job Functions and Skills:
Responsible for the everyday operation, maintenance, installation, and testing of the District's network software and hardware.
Monitor the District's network systems for uptime and performance and take corrective action as required in order to insure peak uptime and performance.
Diagnose hardware and software problems, and replace defective components.
Evaluate, test, and make recommendations on new technologies, software, and processes to provide current and efficient network services and operation
Assist with identifying and acquiring hardware, software, and network products.
Work with teachers and technology staff in the selection of resources that are compatible with the school technology infrastructure.
Adhere to and communicate copyright as well as other laws and guidelines pertaining to the distribution and ethical use of all resources.
Provide technical assistance in the use of hardware and software to teachers and staff.
Prepare and submit accurate reports as required.
Listen and communicate effectively in order to gather, convey or exchange information, including giving instructions or directions.
Respond appropriately to inquiries or complaints.
Use tact and courtesy when working and dealing with community.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
