TSAS a a tuition-free public charter school, serving approximately 525 students grades 6-12.

Executive Director Job Description Summary:
The Executive Director fosters the emergence of a vision and long-term goals for the school. The Executive Director ensures that the school follows policies, laws and governance procedures with fidelity and equity. The Executive Director works to promote the school by responding to and influencing the larger political, social, economic, legal, and cultural context by communicating and engaging with faculty, students, families, the community, local and state government, and media. The Executive Director manages the operations and resources of the school including making recommendations and decisions concerning budget, human resources, maintenance, and facilities. The Executive Director directly manages the seven-member leadership team of the school, ensuring that all are performing their duties and meeting their responsibilities efficiently and effectively.

Scope of the Position:
The Executive Director oversees an annual budget in excess of $3.5 million dollars. Seven members of the executive leadership team report directly to the Executive Director, including the principal of the high school and the principal of the middle school. The Executive Director is the chief executive officer of TSAS, a public charter school in the State of Oklahoma sponsored by Tulsa Public Schools. Target start date: June 1, 2022.

Required Qualifications Master’s Degree or equivalent in educational leadership or relevant field and any requirements imposed by the State of Oklahoma for educational leadership positions in State sponsored charter schools.
Preferred Qualifications + Teaching license and experience
+ Experience leading and collaborating with professionals in an organizational context
+ Commitment to both the educational and personal development of all students
+ Confidence and ability to communicate and collaborate with intersecting entities such as the sponsoring organization, city authorities, the Oklahoma State Department of Education
+ Competence to lead efforts to provide resources necessary or desirable for the advancement of TSAS
+ Familiarity with budgeting and financial oversight; experience working with a lay board; and other qualifications listed in draft of job description).
