Position Summary:
Supervise, direct, plan, coordinate, evaluate and provide leadership for the overall student services
and support programs for the District. Responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the
student services and support divisions, which includes child nutrition, informational technology,
transportation, health services and child welfare, campus support, grounds and maintenance, and
other assigned department(s). Oversee district safety program in conjunction with CPS campus
police department. In addition, the Assistant Superintendent for Student Support Services and
Safety will develop, coordinate, and provide leadership for assigned key strategic objectives of the
District.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
➔ Provide leadership and direction for student support services and safety.
➔ Exercise leadership in the development and implementation of an effective and efficient
program of student support services and safety.
➔ Oversee the District’s safety management plan and procedures.
➔ Facilitate safety training program and dissemination of related information.
➔ Monitor the District’s student attendance percentage and provide guidance to campus
personnel as well as intervention when needed.
➔ Annually, review the results of the student satisfaction survey and then conduct strategy
sessions for generating strategic options for dealing with issues that have been identified
resulting in specific action plans. Monitor the implementation of the specific action plans and
evaluate the progress toward accomplishment of the goals.
➔ Assign responsibilities, delegate specific tasks, and evaluate the performance of personnel
in the Student Support Services and Safety department.
➔ Provide for periodic assessment and review of all student services and support materials and
procedures to ensure an environment of continuous improvement.
➔ Provide leadership in policy development related to student support services and safety.
➔ Provide leadership in relations between student support services and safety and district
schools and departments.
➔ Keep informed of all legislative and State Department of Education requirements pertaining
to Student Support Services and Safety.
➔ Establish and maintain effective support and communication between the student support
services and safety department and executive directors.
➔ Provide effective communication with staff, media, the community and the Board of
Education.
➔ Utilize management practices that promote collegiality, teamwork and collaborative decision
making among staff.
➔ Manage data systems in areas of dropout prevention, student discipline, and transfers.
➔ Serve on the Superintendent’s Executive Council.
➔ Make presentations to the Board of Education regarding student support services and safety
programs, as requested.
➔ Develop and monitor the annual budgets for the departments supervised.
➔ Develop professional development opportunities and improvement plans for the departments
supervised to ensure that District staff stays current and grows professionally.
➔ Analyze facility and equipment needs and formulate plans to meet the needs of the
departments supervised.
➔ Review parent/student handbooks annually and ensure that a collaborative process is used
for revisions.
➔ Ensure that appropriate support services are made available to students.
➔ Work with various community partners regarding student services and support.
➔ Collaborate with building principals and other administrators on implementing safety
protocols.
➔ Develops and implements a plan for partnering with families and the community.
➔ Monitors school district policies and works with administrators to ensure compliance with all
laws, regulations, and rules related to all areas of student support services and safety.
➔ Responsible for compiling, maintaining, and filing all State reports and other documents
required by the State regarding all programs under the student services umbrella.
➔ Represent the school district at community meetings and functions as appropriate.
➔ Review and monitor educational research and current trends on education.
➔ Participate in professional associations related departments supervised.
➔ Work cooperatively with other districts, county offices and community agencies in providing
for the needs of students. Provide liaison with community services, welfare and legal
agencies.
➔ Collaborate with school administrators and the district office regarding the student enrollment
process.
➔ Work collaboratively with the Superintendent around teaching, learning, and innovation on all
learning initiatives.
➔ Maintains regular and punctual attendance to fully meet work responsibilities.
➔ Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
➔ EDUCATION: Masters Degree in Education Administration
➔ CERTIFICATION: Valid Oklahoma Superintendent Certification
➔ EXPERIENCE: Five years of successful site administration

➔ Ability to establish broad objectives relative to the position duties or departmental
responsibilities.
➔ Computer proficiency including Google Suite and remote meeting platforms, such as Zoom
and Google Meets
➔ Excellent conflict resolution skills.
