Serve as an advisor to the Superintendent and Senior Leadership Team. Assist in the development of school district strategic initiatives. Develop positive relationships with local media, stakeholders and staff. Supervise and manage the marketing and recruitment staff. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in marketing, public relations or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education is required. A minimum of five years of work experience in marketing and communications is required. Preference may be given to individuals with experience in education, organizing recruitment activities, supervisory experience, and/or a Master’s Degree. Provide counsel to the Superintendent, Senior Leadership Team and staff, regarding public relations, marketing and ongoing recruitment activities. Travel across the district is required; must possess a valid Class D Oklahoma driver's license with a minimum of 3 years of driving experience to operate district vehicles and maintain an acceptable driving record. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Supervise and manage Communications and Marketing staff to include both exempt and nonexempt employees. Responsibilities include departmental recruitment, selection, hiring, orientation, assignment of duties, performance appraisal, and professional development. WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The primary work environment is in an office environment that regularly requires employee to sit for extended periods of time. Requires reliable, dependable and punctual attendance.
