Job Description
Summary/objective
Works as a member of the Business & Industry Services (BIS) team to provide one-on-one coaching of business clients. Position will also coordinate and deliver small business management training and events directed toward clients who are business owners, managers, and entrepreneurs. Responsible for the recruitment of new customers and providing coaching & training services that will aid in the economic growth of the new and existing businesses in the Great Plains Technology Center School District.
Essential functions
· Coach and advise clients regarding business issues
· Develop and coordinate seminars, workshops and other business training
· Make presentations to various groups to cultivate community contacts and inform the public about services available
· Maintain professional competence through participation in professional and civic activities and development
· Research and develop resources for use by co-workers and clients
· Fulfill administrative functions including tracking of coaching, training and other activities
· Maintain an active Advisory Committee
· Perform other duties as assigned
Competencies
· Oral and written communication including presentation to groups
· Self-motivated and able to work independently
· Microsoft Office or similar software program skills
· Willingness to learn new skills and software programs,

None
Work environment
Position works in an office environment, but the mission of the school may require work in other workplaces.
Travel required
Regular travel within the school’s district is required to visit clients, provide training and serve other functions. Occasional out-of-district travel is required to attend professional development, conferences and other events.

Required Qualifications
High School Diploma
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business or any combination of equivalent education, experience and/or training to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities required
Small business ownership or management experience
