Description | *The start date of this position is dependent on the candidate. The latest start date is July 1st, 2024, but the District is open to an earlier start date to allow for a period of work with the current Chief Financial Officer to facilitate an effective transfer. JOB TITLE: CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER JOB SUMMARY: The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for the development of both an annual budget and a long-term strategic financial plan and projection. The CFO is responsible for ensuring District compliance with accepted governmental accounting practices and reporting, to include, but not limited to, reports to the IRS, Oklahoma Teachers Retirement System, and county and state departments including the Oklahoma State Department of Education.The CFO is responsible for accurate and responsive processes within the District governing the receipt and disbursement of funds in such a way as to support the educational and operational mission of the District in a customer service oriented and fiscally responsible manner. Required Qualifications | EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: •Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or Information Technology strongly preferred; Master’s degree in a related field may be given additional consideration. •Minimum of five years experience preferred with related responsibilities including, but not limited to: budgeting, receipts and disbursements, OCAS or similar governmental accounting; and experience with an annual operating budget. •Ability to communicate with various groups of people, including communication with parents, teachers, transportation, administrators, and outside agencies; adapting to changing work. priorities; meeting deadlines and schedules; setting priorities; working as part of a team; working with detailed information/data; schedule activities, meetings, and/or events; gather, process, and distribute information and data; and public service skills to include congeniality, professionalism, and excellent oral and written communication. •Ability to collect and analyze large amounts of financial data from multiple sources to maximize District funding and support short and long term revenue and expenditure forecasts. •Ability to perform routine and complex computations requiring a knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication and divisions using whole numbers, fractions, decimals and percentages. |
