Description | General Job Description: The Instructional Coach will assist teachers by providing direct support and assistance in the implementation of the District's instructional framework, use of data to improve student achievement, and align curriculum and instruction to Oklahoma State standards. Coaches will spend their time working with teachers and site administration to provide professional development that would include, but not be limited to, in-class coaching, observing, modeling of instructional strategies, guiding teachers through reflective practice, assessing student work, and developing instructional plans with teams of teachers or as individuals. The coach advocates for, facilitates, and supports the work of the teacher, but will not perform supervision or evaluation. The role of a coach is separate and apart from the evaluative role of the principal or supervisor of the teacher. Qualifications: Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Work Environment: Must be able to work within various degrees of noise, temperature, and air quality. Interruptions of work are routine. Flexibility and patience are required. Job responsibilities may include both inside and outside duties. Must be self-motivated and able to complete job assignment without direct supervision. After hour work may be required. May make site or home visits when needed and appropriate. Must be able to work under stressful conditions. Occasional Requirements: Reach with hands and arms overhead above shoulder and horizontally; lift/move up to 40 pounds.
