Performance Responsibilities:

Shall execute a surety bond in an amount equal to the largest estimated account balance that will be on hand at any one time during the current year, as required by law.
Act as advisor to the Superintendent on questions relating to the business and financial affairs of the district.
Assume responsibility for and prepares annual budget for approval by Superintendent and the Board.
Assume responsibility for the overall management, supervision and operations of the district's accounting staff and accounting procedures and controls.
Supervise the management of the financial affairs of the district, including, but not limited to, the general fund, building fund, child nutrition fund, bond funds, sinking funds, and school activity funds.
Prepare regular financial reports for the Superintendent and the Board.
Act as a resource person for the Superintendent, staff, Board Members, school administrative personnel and others concerning the budget, financial management and business affairs of the district.
Allocate all funds after consultation with the Superintendent.
Supervise, assist and assure that district financial operations are in compliance with Board policy, state and federal law and applicable policies and procedures.
Inform administrative staff about new developments in Board policies, State Board of Education rules and regulations, accounting principles and state laws.
Prepare analyses of program costs, methods of financing and long-range projections of financial requirements.
Keep informed of and interprets business and financial laws, policies and regulations affecting the business affairs of the district. Communicates with local, state and national agencies and officials to gain information about legislative or other changes that could affect the district.
Provide leadership regarding federal programs and the possibilities and opportunities they offer for educational grants, entitlement, and allocations offered relevant to the needs of the district.
Compile and maintains applications, forms, written records, and reports on all federal projects, and disseminates this information, as appropriate, to other educational institutions, the State Department of Education, and the U.S. Department of Education. Submits federal reports accurately and timely.
Monitor bid requests and bidding procedures.
Supervise the acquisition and maintenance of employee insurance benefits and property insurance.
Arrange for auditing of school accounts, internal and external.
Complete required hours of continuing professional education each year to maintain professional certifications.
Perform other duties and assumes other responsibilities at the request of the Superintendent.
On call at all times in case of emergency.
Terms of Employment: Number of calendar days and compensation based on approved administrator pay range salary scale and employee work calendars

Evaluation: Evaluation by site superintendent or superintendent’s designee in accordance with BOE policy

Required Qualifications Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration OR Master’s degree in Educational Administration; Experience in Educational Finance
Preferred Qualifications Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration OR Master’s degree in Educational Administration; Experience in Educational Finance
