The Digital Media Specialist’s role is to effectively assist with all communications and marketing operations in the district. Specifically, overseeing the district and school site
websites, the district’s social media accounts and other digital properties. The Digital Media Specialist must have knowledge of communications and marketing strategies,
social media management, content management systems for websites, writing, photography and videography skills.
1. Serves as the primary contact for all aspects of the district’s websites, social media and other digital platforms.
2. Ensures websites, social media and digital platforms are kept updated.
3. Identify positive stories about the district and its schools to showcase the hundreds of programs offered by EPS and engage with families throughout the district.
4. Shoot, write and edit video stories to post on district’s digital platforms.
5. Work with school sites to facilitate training, support and assistance to site representatives.
6. Tracks analytics for district website, social media and other digital platforms.
7. Distributes communication materials throughout the district.
8. Assists in planning and promoting of district events and media coverage.
9. Represents the Communications Department with interactive with the media, at school sites and in the community.
10. Assists with Graphic Design for district materials.
11. Assists with creation of templates for use with district branding.
12. Assists with preparation and planning of Convocation and other district events.
13. Works with Communications Department Team Members to ensure brand consistency across all websites, social media, digital properties and other district materials.
14. Works with vendors to ensure all digital content across the district complies with current regulations and ADA requirements.
15. Maintains current knowledge of best practices, strategy and emerging technology in digital media.
16. Performs other duties as assigned.
