Description | Responsibilities: 1. Curriculum Development: Develop comprehensive lesson plans in accordance with state standards and school curriculum guidelines. Design engaging activities, projects, and assessments to promote language acquisition and cultural understanding. Incorporate relevant cultural topics, literature, and current events into the curriculum to enrich students' learning experiences. 2. Classroom Instruction: Deliver dynamic and interactive lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities. 3. Assessment and Feedback: Assess student proficiency through regular quizzes, tests, oral presentations, and writing assignments. Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with parents/guardians about their child's performance. 4. Classroom Management: Establish and enforce classroom rules and expectations to ensure a positive and respectful learning environment. Manage student behavior effectively and address any disruptions or conflicts that may arise. 5. Professional Development: Stay current with best practices in language teaching, pedagogy, and technology integration. Collaborate with colleagues to share resources, strategies, and innovative teaching ideas. Required Qualifications | Bachelor's degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field (required) Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students. Cultural competence and sensitivity to the needs of a diverse student population. Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development. |
Preferred Qualifications | State teaching certification or licensure in Spanish education (preferred) Proficiency in Spanish language (native or near-native fluency preferred). Previous teaching experience, preferably at the high school level (preferred) |
