Description

Responsibilities:

1. Curriculum Development:

Develop comprehensive lesson plans in accordance with state standards and school curriculum guidelines.

Design engaging activities, projects, and assessments to promote language acquisition and cultural understanding.

Incorporate relevant cultural topics, literature, and current events into the curriculum to enrich students' learning experiences.

2. Classroom Instruction:

Deliver dynamic and interactive lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
Teach grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and language skills through a variety of instructional methods such as direct instruction, group activities, and multimedia resources.
Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel comfortable practicing and communicating in Spanish.

3. Assessment and Feedback:

Assess student proficiency through regular quizzes, tests, oral presentations, and writing assignments.
Provide constructive feedback to students to help them improve their language skills and achieve their learning goals.

Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with parents/guardians about their child's performance.

4. Classroom Management:

Establish and enforce classroom rules and expectations to ensure a positive and respectful learning environment.

Manage student behavior effectively and address any disruptions or conflicts that may arise.
Promote mutual respect, cultural sensitivity, and empathy among students to foster a collaborative and inclusive classroom community.

5. Professional Development:

Stay current with best practices in language teaching, pedagogy, and technology integration.
Participate in professional development opportunities, workshops, and conferences to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

Collaborate with colleagues to share resources, strategies, and innovative teaching ideas.

Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field (required)
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
Cultural competence and sensitivity to the needs of a diverse student population.
Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development.
Preferred Qualifications State teaching certification or licensure in Spanish education (preferred)
Proficiency in Spanish language (native or near-native fluency preferred).
Previous teaching experience, preferably at the high school level (preferred)
