Description

The School Psychologist will support the academic, social, and emotional well-being of students by providing psychological services in an educational setting. This role includes assessment, intervention, consultation, and prevention services to enhance student success and promote a safe, supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Assessment and Evaluation:
Conduct psychological evaluations to determine student eligibility for special education services.
Administer, score, and interpret psychological assessments and tests.
Develop and present comprehensive evaluation reports with recommendations for educational planning.

Intervention:
Design and implement individual and group interventions to address academic, social, emotional, and behavioral issues.
Provide crisis intervention and counseling services to students in need.
Develop and monitor progress of individualized education programs (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers and parents.

Consultation:
Consult with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop and implement effective strategies to enhance student learning and behavior.
Provide guidance on classroom management, instructional strategies, and differentiated instruction to support diverse learners.
Serve as a resource for school staff on mental health and child development issues.

Prevention:
Develop and implement programs to promote positive behavior, mental health, and safe school environments.
Conduct training sessions for school personnel and parents on topics such as bullying prevention, stress management, and resilience building.
Collaborate with community and resources to support student well-being.

Work Environment:
Primary work is conducted in a school setting, including classrooms, offices, and meeting rooms.
Some travel may be required between school sites.

Salary is commensurate with experience and education level, following the district’s pay scale.

Required Qualifications Education:
Master’s or Specialist degree in School Psychology from an accredited institution.
Valid Oklahoma state certification or licensure as a School Psychologist.
Preferred Qualifications Experience:
Previous experience in a school setting preferred.
Experience with a range of assessment tools and intervention strategies.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong knowledge of child development, learning theories, and educational psychology.
Excellent assessment, analytical, and diagnostic skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, educators, and community members.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
