Description

The School Counselor with District Testing Coordinator duties provides comprehensive counseling services to students while managing and coordinating district-wide testing programs. This role involves supporting students' academic, social, and emotional development and ensuring the efficient administration of state and district assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

School Counseling Duties:

Student Support:

Provide individual and group counseling to students to address academic, career, personal, and social issues.
Develop and implement intervention plans and strategies for students facing academic or behavioral challenges.
Facilitate conflict resolution and mediate conflicts between students, as needed.
Academic and Career Guidance:

Assist students in setting academic goals and developing educational plans.
Provide guidance on course selection, career exploration, and post-secondary planning.
Collaborate with teachers and parents to support student achievement and well-being.
Crisis Management:

Respond to and manage crises involving students, including emotional distress and safety concerns.
Coordinate with outside agencies and mental health professionals when necessary.
Program Development:

Design and implement developmental counseling programs and workshops on topics such as study skills, stress management, and college readiness.
Coordinate school-wide initiatives to promote student mental health and well-being.
District Testing Coordinator Duties:

Testing Administration:

Oversee the administration of state, district, and standardized assessments, ensuring compliance with all regulations and guidelines.
Coordinate test scheduling, materials distribution, and staff training related to assessments.
Data Management:

Collect, analyze, and report assessment data to stakeholders, including district administrators, teachers, and parents.
Maintain accurate and confidential records of test results and related documentation.
Communication and Coordination:

Serve as the primary contact for testing-related inquiries from parents, teachers, and district personnel.
Collaborate with district and school staff to ensure testing accommodations and modifications are provided as needed.
Compliance and Reporting:

Ensure that all testing procedures adhere to state and federal regulations.
Prepare and submit required documentation and reports to regulatory agencies and district administration.
Qualifications:

Education: Master’s degree in School Counseling, Educational Psychology, or a related field.
Certification: Valid state certification/licensure as a School Counselor
