Recruitment/Advisement
With administration, student services & faculty input: plans, coordinates,
and participates in recruitment efforts geared toward Regular Full-Time
Programs.
Provides advisement for all applicants interested in enrolling in fulltime
CareerTech programs.
Assists applicants and students in evaluating career interests by
providing occupational information.
Works with students to determine short- and long-range educational
needs of students and evaluating test data as necessary.
Promotes career and technology education programs by networking with
leaders in community service clubs, state agencies, non-profit
organizations, high schools, colleges, and universities
Delivers presentations; participates in professional organizations
benefiting high school and adult students; attends conferences and
workshops to ensure continued professional growth.
Participates in outreach activities including but not limited to 8
th grade
tours, 10th grade tours, career fairs, Dinner with the Teachers, Advisory
Meeting Dinners, graduation ceremonies, and other events as assigned.

Admission
Assists in coordinating and interviewing applicants seeking to enroll in
full-time programs.
Works with administrator(s) to notify students of admission
Enroll students using student accounting system and assist with maintain
accurate records
Assists administrator and faculty with other tasks/details related to
preparing students for admission
Attends and assists with student orientation.

Retention
Plans workshops on a variety of topics that benefit students.
Provides support & advisement for students addressing career, school,
and personal challenges.
Assists in providing referrals to students requiring support services
Assists students who may require IEP or 504 education plans.
Notifies students of scholarship opportunities.
Assists administrator to conduct student program evaluations related to
student class/clinical experiences.

Placement
Communicate with business and industry regarding job opportunities
available for students.
Communicate with job placement specialist to facilitate student
placement.

Data
Assist with collecting, organizing, managing, and reporting data as
required.
Works with administrator(s) to maintain program data
Compile and submit ODCTE state enrollment reports
Works with administrator(s) to coordinate data for other accreditation
agencies and reports.
Assists with collecting data related to student follow-up and placement
Other Duties
Provide front-line contact with customers at the Muskogee Campus
including but not limited to phone and front office duties.
Attend faculty and other job-related meetings and events
Maintain confidentiality when working with all client information.
Performs other tasks and assumes other duties that may be assigned by
administration.

BUDGETING AND
PURCHASING: Assists with preparation of a budget for recruitment and career
advisement related activities.
Use efficient procedures to control expenditure of school funds within
the department budget.

RELATIONS: Maintain a line of communication and work cooperatively with

of advisory recommendations, student’s placement and/or career plans.

Capital service area.
Represent Indian Capital Technology Center at business and civic

Required Qualifications EDUCATION: Minimum of an Associate’s Degree required Preferred Qualifications EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

CERTIFICATION: Not Required.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of three years of experience in Career and Technical Education preferred.
Minimum of three years’ experience advising or related services in adult and/or secondary education preferred.
Knowledge of Career and Technical Education, adult education, and health careers education preferred. Social work also considered a plus.

Responsible for instruction, operation, and curriculum development of the Business Management and Administration program as assigned by the ICTC-Tahlequah Campus Director.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
GENERAL DUTIES: Define short and long-range educational needs for the program and maintains a current individual strategic plan.

Upholds the policies and procedures of the Indian Capital Technology Center Board of Education.

Participates in the PLC (professional learning communities) management process and supports the “School Improvement” philosophy of the district.

Implements the ODCTE Standards and Quality Indicators.

Prepares and submits reports and other documents as required by the State Board of Education, State Department of Career and Technology Education and Indian Capital Technology Center District.

Attends all faculty/staff meetings and other school meetings or events that are essential to the performance of the job plus any that may occur outside of the normal workday.

Strives to retain all students to be completers and assist with positive job placement and/or continuing education.

Maintains follow-up records on former students and submits required information to Oklahoma State Department of Career and Technology Education when applicable.

Evaluates results of instruction and student’s progress to make appropriate modifications to assure students pass an industry specific credential, certificate, or licensure test.

Organizes and manages both classroom and lab to insure maximum efficiency and effectiveness in the teaching/learning process.

Maintains a clean, orderly, secure, and safe classroom/lab and office.

Operates and maintains a positive classroom/lab which minimizes student discipline problems.

Initiates and participates in a minimum of two (2) Advisory Committee meetings per year.

Incorporates academic and work readiness skill development into the instructional program.

Establishes and maintains efficient procedures for timely maintenance of classroom/lab equipment.

Maintains accurate attendance, progress, and performance record on each student.

Available and willing to attend training to upgrade knowledge and skills.

Develops a planned activity schedule that is consistent with local and state guidelines.

Develops a working relationship with student organization sponsors and promotes student participation.

Implements plans for student organization participation in skill and leadership activities at local, district, regional, state and national levels.

Assists in responsibility for Job Placement.

EXTERNAL: Establishes partnerships with companies and other schools to determine needs to develop and deliver customized services. Works with individuals, the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education, Chamber of Commerce, and other organizations in delivery of services related to the industry and career taught.

Required Qualifications Must meet the current experience standards set forth by any approval body and/or accrediting agency.

Minimum of three (3) years successful work experience within the last five (5) years in the Career Pathway or Career Major to be taught is preferred.

Successful teaching experience in a Vocational program is a plus.

Any other experiences that could be associated with the delivery of instruction and supervision of students will be considered
Preferred Qualifications EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree preferred. If no degree, must work towards an Associate degree per Oklahoma Department of Career and Technical Education (ODCTE) certification requirement in the area instruction. Instructor must meet the educational requirements set forth by the program’s approval body and/or accrediting agency.

Eligible for ODCTE and/or the Oklahoma State Department of Education (SDE) and/or any accrediting agency’s requirement for teaching credentials in the career major(s) being taught.
