Skills and Abilities required:

Positive influencer, able to compassionately work/teach with teachers, students and admin.

Collaborate with site teachers on skills and objectives being taught for each grade.

Classroom teachers are to be present and actively engaged during their students’ designated Makerspace time to build their own capacity. There may be times when the classroom teacher will lead the Makerspace lesson.

Makerspace progress is monitored but not graded subject. Although Makerspace addresses OAS standards, they are not a substitute for regular classroom curriculum. 

Collaborate in a team effort with other Makerspace teachers in the district.

Create lesson plans for every grade level from pre kindergarten through fifth grade.

Fast learner, willing to learn alongside students.

Coaching after school teams for district competitions including but not limited to robotics and cardboard boat race.

Classroom management over many different ages and grades.

Able to travel between one or more schools in the district on different days.

Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment

Flexibility, the ability to react resourcefully to varying conditions 

Effectively communicate needs with team leaders or admin.

Organizational skills, to keep all materials organized, cleaned, and well-supplied.

Participates in professional development (in person and online) to stay abreast of the latest trends and studies/research in the field of Makerspace and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).

Keep up to date inventory for all Makerspace non consumables. 

Other duties as assigned (not including regular bus/meal/recess duties)

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Provides weekly hands-on, real world STEM lessons for every student in the school/s assigned.  Will be housed on-site at one or both of their assigned schools.  Daily schedules will be dictated by hours that principals report by site, including after school coaching events such as robotics teams.  Reports to district EdTech.
