Essential responsibilities:

Plan curriculum and prepare lessons and other instructional materials to meet individual needs of the student considering state and school requirements and educational levels of development.

Ability to provide accommodations to meet individual student's needs.

Supervise/mentor paraprofessionals who work with students.

Prepare all special education paperwork in a timely manner in order to satisfy state requirements.

Conduct annual IEP meetings.

Reviews and reports student progress in a required time frame. As well as discuss student's progress with parents, teachers, counselors and administrators.

Prepare and help students transition from grade level to grade level

 Required Qualifications Valid Oklahoma teaching certificate with appropriate special education endorsement

Must possess strong communication skills and understand the importance of transparent and timely communication with all stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications Certification in math, science, and/or ELA

A fundamental knowledge of special education processes
