Job Goal: To assist the Chief Financial Officer with financial and clerical services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• District activity fund custodian which includes counting and depositing all monies for activity funds
turned in by sponsors
• Assist staff with requisitions and the processing and conversion of purchase orders
• Assist with monthly and fiscal year end closing which requires reconciliation and financial analysis
• Process vendor payments weekly for activity, general, building, bond, and sinking funds
• Assist the CFO with the administration and oversight of all district expenditure and revenue records
and financial reporting requirements
• Utilize Oklahoma Cost Accounting System (OCAS) to properly code and manage district revenue and
expenditure reporting to the State Department of Education
• Develop training documentation for process and procedures for users of financial programs in
various departments to ensure efficient and effective use of all financial software
• Work closely with independent auditors during audit of all accounts and records with the district.
Work to correct any audit exceptions or concerns in district.
• Performs other duties and manages special projects as assigned by the CFO
• Supports the Administration office as a member of the team
• Perform duties as Board of Education Minute Clerk including preparing agendas, distributing
documents to board members, attending all meetings, preparing minutes and board room.
Terms of Employment: Twelve month contract (261 days) with leave according to board policy.
Required Qualifications
Qualifications:
• Minimum 60 hours of college credit or equivalent in accounting/finance experience
• Experience in a school business office or finance position preferred
• Expertise in general clerical, time management, and general accounting skills
• Strong organizational skills and thorough attention to detail
• Effective communication skills in speaking and writing
• Experience using Microsoft Office application-based software
• Demonstrate leadership, self-direction and self-motivation abilities
• Ability to accept feedback and engage in a process of self-improvement
• Must be bondable (at district expense)
