SUMMARY: Must be a team player and have the ability to conduct a competency-based instructional program in business and computer technology for high school and adult students. Demonstrated proficiency in cybersecurity, computer network systems, and PC repair.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Provide instruction in the use, care and safe operation of electronics equipment including personal computers, printers and cameras.

Instruct students in essentials of accuracy, efficiency, professional business, dress and conduct, resourcefulness, and good work habits.

Emphasis is placed on communication skills, obtaining and retaining employment.

Provide college level teaching for articulation agreement with higher education.

Provide competency/performance based individualized and group instruction using a variety of instructional methods.

Assist in the development, revision and updating of competency based curriculum materials including written curriculum and audio-visual instructional support materials.

Sponsors or co-sponsors student organization.

Help students obtain industry recognized certification.

Maintains professionalism and discipline during all supervision of students.

Works with Educational Services and Community Outreach staff in recruitment and placement of students.

Work with Career Resource Center, Math, LEAP, and other specialists to provide education services for students.

Maintains professional competence through participation and attendance in faculty meetings, staff development, in-service activities, and participation in professional organizations.

Maintains a program advisory committee which meets as approved during a school year.

Assist in providing students an opportunity for on-the-job training in a job related to the instructional program and placing the student for employment upon completion of program.

Maintain a working relationship with the business community and educational facilities.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree with a valid Oklahoma Business Education Teacher’s Certificate; or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, binary/computer number system, percentages, ration, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Preferred Qualifications Salary Range: $53,670 - $63,020 including benefits; health, dental, life, sick and personal leave. 10 month instructor contract.
