Harding Fine Arts Academy (HFAA) is seeking a new superintendent to build on success and grow the school. HFAA is a public charter school serving students in 5th and 6th grades, with 7th and 8th to be added in subsequent years, along with the 9th-12th high school founded in 2005 with the mission to prepare students for college in an academically challenging, arts-integrated environment. Sponsored by the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, HFAA provides its students pursuit of academic excellence through arts integrated curriculum, research-based innovations, and college prep. Reporting to the HFAA Board of Directors, the superintendent has overall responsibility for the management of administration and daily operations as well as strategic oversight of the long-range planning. Ongoing operations include administration, financial management and reporting, oversight of instructional leadership and curriculum, facilities management, community and board relations, communications, and development. The superintendent connects with the HFAA Foundation as directed by the HFAA Board and provides oversight of reporting to all appropriate state and federal agencies.
We seek a visionary - a devoted adherent to the principles of arts integration and arts led education with a clear understanding of how to achieve optimum student learning within the Oklahoma A+ Schools model. The superintendent will effectively advocate that vision, internally and externally, to successfully manage and grow the school.
We seek a proactive leader, educator, administrator, and communicator who will build strong internal and external relationships. Fiscally astute in school finance with excellent project management skills, the superintendent will have a background of successful administration, fiscal management, board and community relations, and development in an academic environment, including prior classroom and administrative experience, as well as a good understanding of public school law.
We seek a leader with a minimum of eight years of teaching and principal experience characterized by improving student performance, a Master of Secondary School Administration or equivalent, and demonstrable evidence of arts education leadership, practice, or engagement. Superintendent certification strongly preferred; ability to earn within one year from hire required, and familiarity with arts education organizations at all levels, with knowledge of local school systems, structures, and cultures a plus. Essential professional skills include excellent written and oral communications, strong financial planning, proven administrative skills in budgeting, staff supervision, human and public relations, the ability to successfully manage multiple projects, and technology proficiency including Microsoft Office365, Google, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
Working Environment: The superintendent will generally work in an office environment in a historic building and must be able to regularly climb two flights of stairs. Some locations visited while on the job may not be wheelchair accessible, with some time outside and some travel with occasionally long work hours for extended periods of time, including overnight travel.
Requires some lifting, transporting items from the office to other venues and for special event set up. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Required Qualifications Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities):

Bachelor’s Degree in Public or Business Administration or related field
Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in administrative, administrative support, or office management roles.
Demonstrated skills in planning, organization, decision-making, problem-solving and compliance.
Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and manage multiple priorities with accuracy and professionalism
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of Oklahoma Open Records and Open Meetings Acts.
Skilled in the use of technology, including mobile, web, and software platforms such as Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.

*Relevant experience may be substituted for formal education at a 2:1 ratio. Therefore for every 1 year of college lacking, 2 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted.


Physical/Mental Requirements:

Must have adequate manual dexterity to write legibly and perform required duties on the computer.
Must have adequate visual acuity to read, interpret and transcribe written material and other required duties.
Requires normal range of hearing and clear speaking abilities to interact appropriately with others in person and on the telephone.
Requires some stooping, bending, stretching and occasional lifting not to exceed 25 pounds.
Sitting for prolonged periods of time.
May periodically require work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, under sometimes. stressful conditions in order to meet business needs and strict deadlines.
