Sumner County Educational Services, located in Wellington, KS, is accepting applications for a MS/HS High-Incidence (Adaptive Special Education) Teacher for the 2021-2022 School Year. Applicants must currently hold or will hold by August 2021 a Kansas license with the appropriate endorsement. An applicant who is not licensed in special education but willing to pursue licensure will be considered. #619 does have a tuition reimbursement program for those certified in general education wishing to begin teaching on a waiver while earning their Master's degree in Special Education.

This position will involve teaching students with mild to moderate disabilities in our Caldwell and South Haven MS/HS programs in Caldwell, KS and South Haven, KS locations. It does involve traveling between the two towns, which are 11 miles apart from each other. The Interlocal 619 pays mileage for travel between the two schools. This position requires a person who has good communication skills and can work effectively with staff, students, and parents. Job responsibilities include development and implementation of IEPs, the provision of services in the regular and special education settings, collecting data for decision-making, and the supervision of para educators.

Required Qualifications 6-12 Mild/Moderate Special Education (Adaptive Special Education/High-Incidence-KS)
Kansas Certification will be required by Aug. 2021.
