Nature of Position

Instructional Coach will design learning experiences and contribute to student and teacher success by providing embedded instructional support to teachers resulting in improved student achievement across all content areas.

Accountability

This position is directly responsible to the Project Director.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Develop positive and supportive relationships with classroom teachers, school leaders and staff.
2. Assist teachers in designing and implementing high quality lesson plans that align with the instructional best practices.
3. Assist teachers in developing classroom management strategies that foster an inclusive and supportive climate conducive to academic achievement for all students.
4. Connect teachers to appropriate resources for the purpose of implementing curriculum.
5. Support teachers in analyzing assessment data and student work for the purpose of planning instruction that targets the identified needs of all students.
6. Help classroom teachers address challenges and develop effective instructional practices through modeling, co-teaching and providing feedback.
7. Design and facilitate engaging and relevant professional learning experiences guided by adult learning theory.
8. Perform any related tasks designated by the Project Director.

Required Qualifications Qualifications

• Oklahoma teaching certification. Administrative certification is not required.

• Ability to develop constructive relationships, inspire and motivate others, exhibit tact and patience and maintain confidentiality.

• Knowledge of child growth and development, current effective teaching practices and behavioral management strategies.

• Ability to speak before groups of people with poise and confidence and facilitate group discussions.

• Demonstrate knowledge of adult learning theory and experience in planning and facilitating professional learning sessions.

• Utilize Microsoft Office products (e.g. Excel, Word and PowerPoint), Google platforms and online learning platforms such as Edivate and Teaching Channel and have a working knowledge of various technology tools.

• Demonstrate continued professional curiosity and growth.

Position Overview:

As an Enrollment Specialist, you will play a critical role in Empower Nation’s mission to eliminate access and support barriers by carefully coordinating a network of resources to dramatically reduce the rates of poverty by guiding individuals on a custom-made path starting with graduation through secondary education, into job placement and career advancement. This dynamic position will require you to travel throughout the state of Oklahoma, engaging with individuals and families in underserved communities. Your responsibilities will encompass setting up our Empower Nation Success Stations and interacting with potential members to get them enrolled in our program and connected to their Success Agent, a licensed social worker.

Key Responsibilities:

Travel Throughout Oklahoma: You will be visiting several different locations across Oklahoma to reach out to underserved communities. You will be responsible for setting up and manning our referral site Success Stations in order to register members in our program. You must have reliable transportation.

Equipment Management: You will be required to transport and set up display items, including tents, tables, chairs and promotional items and collateral.

Community Engagement: Utilize your interpersonal skills and experience in engaging with people, particularly those from underserved communities including those experiencing homelessness and building rapport and trust.

Tablet Utilization: Employ your proficiency with tablets and other technology to assist individuals in signing up for the Empower Nation’s program. You will need to be able to record information accurately and access information quickly.

Empower Nation Success Station: Set up and manage promotional booths that may include 10 x 10 canopy ensuring they are visually appealing and easy to access.

Information Dissemination: Effectively communicate the benefits of and details of the program and encourage sign ups.

Community Outreach: Develop and maintain relationships with the local community and referral partners to encourage continued presence at each location.

Data Collection: Collect and document essential data, feedback and insights from referral partners when necessary to help improve service delivery and program effectiveness.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

High school diploma or GED required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Experience in community engagement and working with underserved populations including those experiencing homelessness.

Ability to work at multiple sites in assigned territory.

Licenses/Certifications/Other:

A valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle for frequent travel.

Agriculture Education Instructor

Job Description:

The agricultural education instructor is employed by the local school district to teach agricultural
education courses offered by the local district and approved by the Oklahoma Department of
Career and Technology Education and the State Department of Education. The agricultural
education instructor is to assist and supervise all students in developing a Supervised
Agricultural Experience (SAE). In addition, the agricultural education instructor will serve as
advisor of the local FFA chapter and promote FFA activities as an integral part of the agricultural
education experience. Finally, the agricultural education instructor is encouraged to promote and
offer adult education to the community.

Duties:
1. Instructor will maintain an active advisory committee. The committee will officially meet
at least once annually to discuss the direction of the program. A record of the minutes
should be kept on file.
2. Instructor will supervise student's SAEs though school based, worksite, and/or home
visits. Also, the instructor will provide feedback and direction to the student's SAE.
3. The instructor will serve the educational needs of the students in grades 8-12 by
providing the latest knowledge and skills associated with the area being taught. The
instructor will also provide the opportunity for students to obtain a state recognized level
of achievement.
4. The instructor will be provided 1 hour of planning and 1 hour of supervision of student's
SAEs. It is recommended that the hour of supervision be placed at the end of the school
day. This will allow the instructor additional daylight hours to make worksite and home
supervisory visits.
5. The instructor is a full-time, 12-month employee and will teach only approved
agricultural education courses.
6. The instructor should provide various adult education courses for the local community
supporters and patrons.
7. The instructor will outline a summer calendar detailing FFA activities, judging contests,
and/or livestock shows that he/she will be attending. The summer calendar should also
include the instructor's scheduled vacation.
8. The instructor will maintain an active program during the summer. The instructor will
continue to supervise students SAEs. The instructor will promote student attendance and
provide transportation for students to attend FFA leadership activities, summer field days,
and/or livestock events and shows. In addition, the instructor should work with the local
community on projects or activities. Also, the instructor will attend professional
development.
9. Two weeks’ vacation time will be earned each year. In lieu of two weeks’ vacation time,
three weeks each year may be allowed for professional improvement if requested by local
school authorities and approved by the state program administrator for Agricultural
Education.
10. The local school district will abide by State Rules and Regulations in regard to course
enrollment numbers in agricultural education courses.
11. The instructor will provide opportunities for students to participate and be active in the
local FFA chapter.
12. The instructor will submit all reports required by the Oklahoma Department of Career
and Technology Education and FFA office in a timely manner.
