Description

To provide effective instruction in Cosmetology necessary to prepare students for employment in business and industry.
Utilize Effective Schooling Criteria when developing all lessons.

Preplan all units of instruction identifying information needed, supplies and equipment needed, and a method of instruction.

Develop a sequenced curriculum necessary for the instruction of juniors, seniors, and adults, in order to emphasize time on task.

Identify appropriate methods necessary for involving all students in theory and application.

Develop methods to reinforce all theory assignments with “hands-on” activities.

Develop a departmental filing system for retrieval of all instructional units and materials for the instructor and the student.

Develop a standard routine using Effective Schooling Criteria for opening and closing each class period.

Maintain an organized equipment room with an effective equipment check-out system.

Utilize proper administrative procedures for processing purchasing, administrative duties, budget information, student activities, etc.

Utilize a total scope and sequence of the program, identifying units of instruction in order of instruction.

Control live work to supplement and reinforce the learning process.

Operate a full-service salon, open to the public on a part-time schedule.

Develop an active advisory committee, consisting of at least five members from business and industry.

Promote placement and follow-up activities with all students.

Work with immediate supervisor for constant program improvement and planning.

Attend and participate in all professional meetings as required by the district.

Serve as a role model for students as demonstrated by dress, attitude and technical knowledge
Perform such other tasks and assume such other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the administration.

Required Qualifications Cosmetology License, Cosmetology Master Instructor’s License, High School Diploma; B.S. Degree helpful.
Eligible for T&I teaching certificate through ODCTE
Must have good interpersonal relationship skills and utilize good verbal and written communication. Be able to develop or modify curriculum to meet individual program requirements. Must be a good role model.
Ability to read, comprehend and evaluate documents, textbooks, and reference materials. Ability to deliver presentations and instructions in a logical and sequential order. The ability to stand for long periods of time and to move around the classroom. Requires stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. The ability to lift 30 pounds of weight to a height of four feet. Must possess and maintain a valid Oklahoma driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications Three to five years of experience in Cosmetology. Teaching experience preferred. TITLE: SECONDARY ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL

REPORTS TO: Principal

SUPERVISES:
• All staff assigned to the school.
• All other resource and service personnel while functioning in the assigned school.

JOB GOAL: To relieve the principal of such impediments as to prevent him/her from fulfilling his/her chief responsibility of promoting the educational well-being of each student in the school.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assists in the scheduling of classes; supervises the extra-curricular activities program.
• Assists in the preparation of student schedules.
• Works with department heads and faculty groups in compiling the annual budget requests.
• Requisitions supplies and equipment, conducting inventories, maintaining records, and checking on receipts for such material.
• Assists in the responsibility for coordinating transportation, custodial, cafeteria, and other support services.
• Supervises the reporting and monitoring of student attendance, and does investigative follow-up actions where needed.
• Supervises conduct within the school and oversees all disciplinary procedures, keeping records of any disciplinary action.
• Assists with parent, faculty, and student groups as requested in advancing the educational program and related activities and objectives.
• Works with the principal in promoting the in-service program of the staff, and assists in the Community Awareness Program.
• Assists in textbook and supplies distribution and inventory.
• Works with the principal in the preparation of the student handbook.
• Assists the principal in the general administration of the school, and serves as principal when the principal is absent.
• Keeps confidential records of special students and supervises IEP conferences when necessary.
• Coordinates the in-school suspension program.
• Assigns any extra duties as necessary to teacher.
• Does monthly dropout report for state department and assists with other state reports as necessary.
• Obtains substitute teachers and/or “covering” teachers where necessary.
• Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the principal may from time to time assign.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
• 205 days per year

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of administrative personnel.

Serve as Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education (ODCTE) testing liaison for the Drumright Campus.
Plan units of instruction, identifying information, supplies and equipment needed, as well as implementing the appropriate method of instruction to various programs at Central Tech. Work with immediate supervisor for constant student and program evaluation, improvement, and planning.
Utilize proper administrative procedures for processing, purchasing, administrative duties, budget information and student records.
Serve as a role model for students as demonstrated by dress, work ethics, professionalism, technical knowledge and taking pride in the vocation.
Maintain memberships in educational and related professional organizations.
Continue professional growth through college credit courses, workshops, and/or other sources of training.
Prepare and submit reports and other documents as required by the Board of Education, Central Tech Administration, and the Oklahoma Department of Career Technology Education.
Attend all faculty/staff meetings, professional training, school meetings, and functions as required.
Uphold the policies and procedures of the Central Tech Board of Education.
Regular attendance following a designated 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. work schedule, or as directed by supervisor. Must be able to work extended hours and additional days/evenings as required by position responsibilities.

Required Qualifications BS Degree
Experience teaching high school mathematics courses helpful. Experience teaching job-seeking skills (resumes, cover letters, interviewing) helpful.
Knowledge of and the ability to use effective teaching strategies in the classroom with students. Must possess and maintain a valid Oklahoma driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications Intermediate math certification and three to five years teaching experience preferred.
