SUMMARY: Under the general direction of the Superintendent, the Executive Director of Technology will take action to ensure the technology-related mission and goals of the district are realized and support the District’s overall strategic plan and enterprise undertaking. To improve the overall quality of education received by students, staff, and the school community through the use of technology. Provides leadership and technical guidance for the long term vision of the District’s technology needs. Manages and maintains all electronic equipment and networking infrastructure in the district. Supervises and coordinates departmental operations and supervises all technology department employees. Supervises and coordinates the enrollment center departmental operations and enrollment center employees. Collaborates as a member of the Superintendent’s district leadership team and district administration team representing the technology needs of the district.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: these statements are intended to describe the responsibilities assigned to this position and are not intended to represent an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required.
Responsible for the development, installation and maintenance of the District's technology program.
Provide the school community with enhanced, forward-looking technology applications that directly support student learning
Supervises and coordinates the enrollment center departmental operations and enrollment center employees.
Responsible for the school district’s accreditation process, including supporting principals through the process.
Responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and assessing district technology needs through short-term and long-range planning.
Write reports and provide public presentations on the accomplishments, initiatives, activities and plans of the Technology Department and enrollment center.
Responsible for coordinating and overseeing the 1:1 initiative in grades PK-12.
Provide leadership for the technology department related to strategic planning, budgeting, E-rate funding, technical expertise, and implementation of technology to support end user functions.
Supervise and coordinate all upgrades and additions to the district network.
Maintain the Wide Area Network. This includes identification and testing of problem areas, finding solutions for hardware and software network management.
Participate in development, implementation, and maintenance of policies and processes.
Develop and maintain asset tracking systems for the District’s technology equipment.
Coordinate and oversee training for district personnel on office and network applications.
Participate in professional development training to maintain a high level of technical skill and stay current of state-of-the-art technology, equipment and systems.
Provide technical support and recommendations for software applications.
Coordinate and collaborate with the Teaching and Learning Department to determine how to best meet the needs of end users (i.e. students, teachers, and parents).
Consult with District officials on matters of policy and capital improvement issues.
Develop and coordinate annual budgets (general, bond, etc.) for technology purchases.
Coordinate vendors on orders and delivery of district technology equipment, and process technology purchase orders for payment.
Provide expertise and development processes for Cyber Security and Disaster Recovery of the District’s data and network.
Oversee and support the management of the District’s student Information System.
Continue to support and expand the District's one-to-one student device initiatives.
Coordinate and purchase district software licenses.
Participate in and/or lead troubleshooting efforts related to technology issues and provide leadership and development of the Technology Helpdesk.
Coordinate with the State Department of Education and E-rate departments for proper reporting and transparency.
Supervise, lead, and develop the Technology Department and Enrollment Center staff.
Maintain a CCOSA membership each school year.
Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree required.
Master’s Degree required.
Three (3) to five (5) years of leadership experience required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and G-Suite for education. Knowledge of internet, e-mail, content filters, firewalls, and database theory. Knowledge of LANs, WANs and network theory. Knowledge of cyber security measures to protect the network, including disaster recovery.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Basic knowledge of technology principles. General knowledge of computers and related technology devices. Ability to systematically troubleshoot standard computers, iPads, and Chromebooks. Ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues. Ability to demonstrate technical repairs to student interns. Ability to follow all district policies and procedures. Demonstrating ability to sympathize and communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with faculty, staff, team members, and administrators. Ability to work without supervision, and work as a team player. Demonstrate a high level of initiative, flexibility, and the ability to work independently. Ability to document records accurately. Ability to manage confidential information in a manner that respects students, families, and employees. Ability to listen effectively. Strong customer focus; service-oriented attitude. Ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to develop and implement computer systems, capacity, technology, and operational plans.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical writings, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to generate reports. Ability to write business correspondence, and technical instructions. Ability to effectively present information and respond to technical questions. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Ability to speak clearly in a well-modulated voice with good diction. Ability to read, write, and interpret the English language in a variety of forms. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

LICENSES and REGISTRATIONS: Current driver’s license in good standing.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to talk and hear.
