Superintendent - Fargo-Gage Public Schools

Position Category Administration Position Type Superintendent Posting Start Date Posting End Date Position Start Date School District Fargo-Gage Public Schools City, State

Fargo, OK
United States

Description

The Fargo-Gage Board of Education is seeking a superintendent to lead the district, which benefits from significant community support and serves 200 students with one elementary school, one middle school and one high school. Fargo-Gage, home of the Bearcats, is a rural school system located just west of Woodward, Oklahoma.

Over the past 10 years, Fargo-Gage School has upgraded its infrastructure, expanded program offerings and strengthened its financial position. Community support has been key to past infrastructure improvements, with plans for future upgrades underway. The current superintendent has served the district for 10 years and plans to retire at the end of the fiscal year.

Among its points of pride, the Fargo-Gage school community:

  • Built a new High School/Middle School in 2015 that includes a state-of-the-art science lab, band classroom with attached choir room and a safe room that houses all students. The district’s event center was completed in 2021 and includes a dining area that comfortably seats 200 students, as well as an auditorium that can accommodate more than 600. The FFA program also includes one of the nicest show barns in the area.

  • Has a strong teacher recruitment program focused on bringing in the brightest and best educators. The district offers a housing program, contributes to continuing education costs and pays staff to attend professional development, along with other programs designed to support teachers.

  • Is a one-to-one district that provides devices to all students. A new STEM lab was completed in 2021, offering opportunities for students at all grade levels. The district is a member of High Plains Technology Center, providing students opportunities to earn skills and certifications while still in high school. High Plains Technology Center also offers a wind tech certification program, which is especially valuable in this region where wind energy plays an important role.

Fargo-Gage School is a special place because of the strong support from local communities, the school board and families. The district is fortunate to have the financial ability to provide staff with the resources needed to be successful. Staff members work well together and are supportive of one another. It is a great place to be.
