JOB SUMMARY: This person will assume responsibility as a member of the Superintendent’s administrative team to provide leadership in school improvement throughout the district. The major responsibilities include the overall supervision of secondary, intermediate, and alternative school programs. The person in this position reports directly to the Superintendent.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
•Facilitate the development and implementation of district long-range goals.
•Assist in planning and reviewing district budgets to ensure expenditures reflect district goals and priorities.
•Coordinate district-wide efforts to provide excellence and equity of educational opportunities for all students.
•Collaborate with the Superintendent’s administrative team to develop highly effective K-12 leadership and programming.
•Facilitate the growth of secondary and intermediate administrators as instructional leaders.
•Provides leadership and vision to promote the establishment of an inclusive culture that supports student growth and development in matters relating to student discipline, alternative education, child welfare and attendance, guidance services, and school safety.
•Observe, supervise, and evaluate the performance of secondary and intermediate principals and communicate with them regarding their professional performance and growth.
•Lead strategic change that continuously elevates the performance of schools and sustains high-quality educational programs and opportunities across the district, including University partnerships supporting student achievement.
•Assist in the recruiting, hiring, and assignment of secondary administrative personnel.
•Engage in your own development and continuous improvement to help principals grow as instructional leaders.
•Provide leadership in using effective research based practices to increase student achievement.
•Facilitate district committees or groups to review best practices, programs, or services in secondary schools.
•Disseminate site and district data to assist building administrators in school improvement efforts.
•Participate in work of local, state, and national education associations and leadership groups.
•Represent Yukon Public Schools in various school related community programs and activities.
•Work to ensure effective counseling services are available in secondary schools.
•Coordinate the planning and implementation of intermediate, middle and high school summer school programs.
•Regularly update and maintain board policies for student discipline and due process including maintaining the student/parent handbook with current policies
•Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities as the supervisor may assign.

EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
•Valid Oklahoma School Administrator’s certificate
•10 years combined experience in a common education school setting; 5 Years of successful leadership at the site or district level, or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
•Master’s Degree required; Doctorate preferred
•Specific knowledge-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: experience in supporting student achievement in the following areas: supervision; curriculum and instruction; leadership development; and program development.
•Specific ability-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: adapting to changing work priorities; communicating with diverse groups and individuals; meeting deadlines and schedules’ setting priorities; working as part of a team; and working with detailed information/data.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
•Will be required to regularly stand; walk; and sit for extended periods.
•Must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds.
•May experience constant interruptions, inflexible deadlines, and changes to normal routines; flexibility is required including night time meetings and activities as well as meetings outside the normal work day.
•The ability to communicate with various groups of people is essential. This may include communication with parents, teachers, transportation, administrators, and outside agencies.
•Must have a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and reliable transportation
•Frequent nighttime activities and occasional weekend activities are required.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
•238 day contract, 8 hours per day
•Salary placement based on administrative experience, building level or above
•As of the 2023-2024 school year, benefits include: fully paid Oklahoma Teachers’ Retirement; health insurance for the employee; vision insurance for the employee; $10,000 life insurance policy; 10 days paid vacation with the opportunity to increase to 15 days; 3 days personal leave; 3 days annual leave; and 12 days of sick leave.

Description

The Finance/Payroll Specialist will support the district in various financial functions, interacting with administrators, staff, educators, and vendors when necessary.

Specific responsibilities and duties include (but are not limited to):
-Oversee the District ProCard (credit card) System,
-Perform portions of monthly payroll duties and serve as the primary backup for the Payroll Coordinator,
-Perform monthly Community Action Project (CAP) billing,
-Assist the Chief Financial Officer with maintaining and construction project information and documentation,
-Review invoices to ensure corresponding payment will be for services/products ordered and delivered; work with the District Emcumbrance Clerk to ensure timely payment of construction invoices that are compliant with state law and Board policies,

-Attend Oklahoma Cost Accounting System (OCAS) and other pertinent training,

Required Qualifications Associate's degree in bookkeeping, business, or a related field of study and three years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field required. Core Responsibilities
-Classroom Culture: A Teacher ensures scholars are full participants in a structured, productive and safe learning environment. Teachers do this through participation, internalization of class/school culture systems, consistent routines, engaging in meaningful work, celebration of character values and a belief that one can be both warm and strict.
-Ambitious Content: A Teacher ensures that scholars work with content that will best develop their understanding of ideas and skills essential to the course. Compensation and Benefits
