TITLE: INTERMEDIATE ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL
REPORTS TO: Principal
SUPERVISES:
•All staff assigned to the school.
•All other resource and service personnel while functioning in the assigned school.
JOB GOAL: To relieve the principal of such impediments as to prevent him/her from fulfilling his/her chief responsibility of promoting the educational well-being of each student in the school.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Assists in the scheduling of classes; supervises the extra-curricular activities program.
•Assists in the preparation of student schedules.
•Works with department heads and faculty groups in compiling the annual budget requests.
•Requisitions supplies and equipment, conducting inventories, maintaining records, and checking on receipts for such material.
•Assists in the responsibility for coordinating transportation, custodial, cafeteria, and other support services.
•Supervises the reporting and monitoring of student attendance, and does investigative follow-up actions where needed.
•Supervises conduct within the school and oversees all disciplinary procedures, keeping records of any disciplinary action.
•Assists with parent, faculty, and student groups as requested in advancing the educational program and related activities and objectives.
•Works with the principal in promoting the in-service program of the staff, and assists in the Community Awareness Program.
•Assists in textbook and supplies distribution and inventory.
•Works with the principal in the preparation of the student handbook.
•Assists the principal in the general administration of the school, and serves as principal when the principal is absent.
•Keeps confidential records of special students and supervises IEP conferences when necessary.
•Coordinates the in-school suspension program.
•Assigns any extra duties as necessary to teacher.
•Does monthly dropout report for state department and assists with other state reports as necessary.
•Obtains substitute teachers and/or “covering” teachers where necessary.
•Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the principal may from time to time assign.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
•205 days per year
