Reading Interventionist

The Reading Interventionist supports student achievement by providing targeted reading
instruction to students who are performing below grade level. This role involves
collaborating with teachers, specialists, and administrators to design and implement
individualized intervention strategies based on assessment data, supporting a Multi-
Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework.
Provide direct, research-based reading interventions to students individually or in
small groups.
● Assess student reading levels using diagnostic tools and progress monitoring
assessments.
● Analyze data to identify students in need of intervention and to track progress.
● Collaborate with classroom teachers to align interventions with core curriculum.
● Develop and implement individualized reading plans based on student needs.
● Participate in Student Support Team (SST) or MTSS meetings.
● Maintain accurate records of interventions and student progress.
● Communicate regularly with parents, teachers, and support staff regarding
student performance.
● Stay current on best practices and instructional strategies in literacy and
intervention.
● Provide professional development and coaching to staff on reading strategies,
when needed.
Certification: Valid Oklahoma teaching certification
Experience: At least 2 years of classroom or reading intervention experience.
