Reports to: Building principal
Supervises: Assigned aide, if applicable
Qualifications: Valid Oklahoma teaching certificate in assigned subject(s)
Job Goal: Provide exceptional instruction to assigned students while working within the established policies and procedures of the district.
Employment Terms: 10 month contract
FLSA Classification: Exempt
Evaluation: Annually pursuant to Oklahoma law

Regular Requirements: Stand for extended periods; walk; twist at the neck and trunk; bend and reach with hands and arms overhead, above shoulder and horizontally; repetitive use of fingers and hands to grasp and/or operate equipment and demonstrate lessons to students; lift/move up to 15 pounds
Occasional Requirements: Lift/move up to 25 pounds
Visual Requirements: Close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus
Hearing/Speaking Requirements: Adequate to exchange information
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Establish and implement classroom procedures designed to maximize student learning.
2. Prepare detailed weekly lesson plans consistent with Common Core objectives. Timely submit
plans to assigned principal.
3. Prepare lessons consistent with written lesson plans and best education practices. Comply with
all Individualized Education Plans.
4. Maintain a neat and orderly classroom, including the physical arrangement of the room, student
records and materials.
5. Handle routine classroom discipline fairly.
6. Prepare and timely submit all required reports.
7. Attend and participate in all required meetings and conferences, including professional
development and planning meetings.
8. Maintain complete and accurate student records, including attendance, performance and
discipline records.
9. Provide professional and regular feedback to students and parents, ensuring compliance with all
laws and district policies and procedures.
10. Regularly participate in appropriate professional development opportunities.
11. Utilize professional behavior in all school related interactions.
12. Comply with all federal, state and local laws and board policies and procedures.
13. Perform all other tasks as supervisor may assign.
