TITLE: Teacher - Secondary

REPORTS TO: Principal

SUPERVISES: Teacher Aide and Volunteers

JOB GOAL: To lead students toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, social and psychological growth.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Prepares for, meets, and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.

2. Develops and maintains a classroom environment conductive to effective learning within the limits of the resources provided by the district.

3. Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.

4. Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.

5. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.

6. Evaluates student progress on a regular basis and communicates that progress to the students and the parents.

7. Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.

8. Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and the Board policy.

TITLE: Teacher - Elementary

QUALIFICATIONS: As set by state certification authorities

REPORTS TO: Principal

SUPERVISES: Teacher Aide and Volunteers

JOB GOAL: To lead students toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, social and
psychological growth.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Prepares materials for teaching all subjects on the elementary level except music so that the individual needs of each student are met.
2. Encourages each child to become more independent by following written and oral instructions.
3. Re-examines the progress of each student periodically in order that the student, teacher, and parents can be aware of the extent of his achievement.
4. Assigns work for each child according to his needs.
5. Confers with co-workers in order to coordinate efforts; confers with students on a regular basis; confers with parents as necessary.
6. Maintains discipline.
7. Strives to maintain and improve professional competencies.
8. Attends staff meetings.
9. Plans, supervises, and provides available materials and instruction for use for Paraprofessionals, volunteers, and substitute teachers.
10. Collects lunch and/or milk money daily.
11. Assists with all forms of duty.
12. Keeps records as required.
13. Uses various forms of technology to help keep students engaged.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year as determined by the Board of Education.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Administrative Personnel.
