Our District:
The Snohomish School District, the 19th largest district in Washington State, serves approximately 10,000 students in grades K through 12. The district consists of two high schools, two middle schools, ten elementary schools, a preschool, an alternative learning program for secondary students, and a cooperative program for home-school families. Our community is known for coming together to support education and our students. We are a district committed to exploring and applying ways to assure that each student is successful. We gather community input and involve parents and employees in decisions.
Our Community:
Snohomish is situated in the heart of the Puget Sound region of Washington state – one of the most beautiful and livable areas of the state. We are ideally situated between the beautiful Cascade Mountains to the east and the Puget Sound to the west. Snohomish offers the balanced lifestyle of a family-oriented small town with easy access to the urban amenities of the west coast.
Education and Experience:
Possess, or be eligible for, Washington State Principal Certificate at the secondary level
Master’s Degree in educational administration, supervision or appropriate related field
Five (5) years successful teaching at the secondary level
Successful experience in secondary school leadership and administration preferred
Experience working collaboratively with staff, students and families to develop a positive learning environment
Experience implementing student learning improvement efforts in a secondary school
Salary Range: Snohomish School District Principal Salary dependent on experience. Salary $176,020 to $187,100
Benefits: Medical, life and other insurances are available from District approved plans
Work Year: July 1 to June 30—12 month work year, including 13 holidays and 26 vacation days.
*Important update: Effective with the Governor’s mandate released August 18, 2021 it is a requirement for all K-12school employees to have proof of vaccination against COVID-19, or an approved medical or religious exemption. Employees must provide evidence of such upon hire.

Provide leadership for selection, assignment, professional development and evaluation of school staff
Develop the school budget and manage allocated funds consistent with the school and student learning improvement plans and in accordance with district policies, procedures and contractual obligations
Facilitate development of the master schedule in service to students and staff
Monitor the maintenance, use and security of the school’s facilities
Administer policies, rules and regulations established by the State of Washington, State Board of Education, Snohomish School District Board of Directors and the school district administration
