Job Summary:
The Special Education Paraprofessional supports students with disabilities in instructional and non-instructional settings. The paraprofessional works under the supervision of certified special education teachers and administrators to provide academic, behavioral, and functional support that fosters student growth, independence, and success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist the classroom teacher in implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for assigned students.

Provide academic support by reinforcing lessons, modifying materials, and monitoring student progress.

Support students with disabilities in general education and special education classrooms, ensuring access to the curriculum.

Implement behavior intervention plans, including the use of positive behavior supports.

Assist students with personal care needs, which may include feeding, toileting, mobility, and hygiene.

Monitor and assist students during transitions, recess, lunch, assemblies, and transportation as assigned.

Support communication needs, including use of assistive technology or adaptive devices.

Maintain confidentiality of student records and information in compliance with federal and state laws.

Participate in professional development and training as required by the district.

Perform other duties as assigned by supervising teachers or administrators.

Required Qualifications Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience working with children, preferably those with disabilities.

Ability to take direction and work collaboratively with staff.

Strong communication, patience, and organizational skills.

Job Description
Summary/objective
The primary responsibility of the instructor is to teach his/her assigned courses to the best of their ability. This responsibility is greater than all other responsibilities assigned. The instructor shall devote all of their professional capabilities, time, and talents to provide a program of meaningful learning opportunities to each student.

Essential functions
· Plan and deliver high-quality instruction: Plan and deliver engaging, rigorous, and standards-based trade and industry instruction that is differentiated to meet the needs of all students. Incorporate relevant technology and project-based learning activities that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration according to guidelines established by Oklahoma law, the Oklahoma State Department of Education, board policies, and administrative regulations.
· Develop and assess student learning: Use a variety of assessment tools and strategies to monitor and evaluate student learning and provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents. Maintain accurate records of student progress and participate in data analysis to inform instructional decision-making.
· Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders: Work collaboratively with other instructors, school leaders, and stakeholders to develop and implement effective instructional programs and strategies that support student achievement. Participate in school and district committees and communicate regularly with parents and families to build positive relationships and promote student success. Maintain a minimum of five advisory committee members that support and represent all aspects of the industry.
· Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment: Maintain a safe, orderly, and inclusive learning environment that supports the social, emotional, and academic needs of all students. Establish and enforce clear expectations for student behavior and conduct and address any disciplinary issues in a fair and consistent manner, especially while students are working in the shop area and/or on live work. During breaks and other times that the teacher is out of the shop, work on equipment shall be stopped and the shop will be locked. No one is to be left working in a shop or lab during break time. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
· Student development: Sponsor and actively promote the student organization designated for the assigned program and participate in activities designated by administration. Provide instruction to students on “Job Seeking” training and resume writing and assist students in developing an occupational portfolio. Supervise OJT activities for those students on OJT.
· Engage in ongoing professional development: Stay current with the latest research, trends, and best practices in trade and industry education. Seek out opportunities for self-reflection and growth and be willing to experiment with new instructional strategies and technologies to improve student learning.
· Stay informed: Have knowledge of the rules, policies, procedures, and regulations governing the Great Plains Technology Center and ensure that these rules, regulations, and policies are adhered to by self and all students.
· Prepare: In the event of absence, notify the appropriate administrator and the school receptionist at the earliest possible time. Maintain a current Emergency Lesson Plan

· Subject Knowledge: Possess a deep understanding of assigned trade and industry program principles and applications. Be familiar with required tools, software, and hardware, and be able to explain complex concepts in simple terms to students.
· Pedagogical Skills: Possess strong teaching skills, including the ability to design effective lesson plans, create engaging and interactive classroom activities, and assess student learning effectively. Adapt to different learning styles and create an inclusive learning environment.
· Communication Skills: Be an effective communicator, able to convey information clearly and concisely to students, colleagues, and parents. Listen actively and respond appropriately to student inquiries, concerns, and feedback.
· Professionalism: Demonstrate professionalism in all aspects of their work, including preparation, punctuality, attendance and commitment to ongoing professional development. Work collaboratively with colleagues and other stakeholders and be willing to take on leadership roles within the school and community.

Supervisory responsibilities
Direct the work of assigned instructional assistant(s) as applicable.

Work environment
The trade and industry instructor typically works in a classroom environment, but the mission of the school may require work in other settings including outdoors. A standard workweek as assigned by administration is required, but evening or weekend hours may be required to accommodate activities.

Physical demands
While performing the duties of this position, the instructor is frequently required move/position objects, move about their classroom, building and/or across campus. The instructor may respond to emergency situations, student altercations and communicate with staff, parents and students. The instructor may be required to perform extensive work at a computer display terminal.

Travel required
Occasional travel within and outside of the Great Plains Technology Center district may be required for sponsorship of student activities, professional development and participation in other Great Plains Technology Center activities.

Essential Job Functions:
Manages, in a safe and efficient manner, day-to-day operations of bus transportation to include scheduling and assigning work to employees or outsourcing to charters.

Performs and schedules student field trips and provides adequate transportation for students.
Schedules routine bus maintenance and prepares required annual reports and inspections.
Maintains records of bus drivers, including required medical documents for annual reports.
Maintains warehouse in neat and mannerly condition and provides oversight of stored inventory.
Prioritizes tasks to be completed and provides follow-up and reporting to Director, Campus Operations.
Ability to be present on the job as described under working conditions and contract details.
Other duties as assigned.
