Summary:
Coordinate and oversee the work of the following functional areas: Communications and Marketing, Advanced Media and Creative Services. Reports to the Director of Statewide Outreach.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, marketing or related field.
• Minimum of five years of related experience.
• Minimum of two years of successful supervisory or management experience.
Preferred:
• Experience in public relations, communications, and/or marketing in an education setting.
• Experience in state or government communications.
• Experience in the CareerTech system.
• Technical writing skills.
Essential Functions/Duties:
• Annually update the ODCTE Communications Plan and ensure plan is communicated and executed.
• Coordinate media relations program. Direct the work of staff in areas of press releases, media alerts and developing relationships with all media outlets to communicate the value of the CareerTech system.
• Manage and implement internal communications.
• Coordinate videography and/or photography for internal events and all marketing projects.
• Annually update the crisis communications plan and coordinate emergency notifications.
• Coordinate social media participation by agency staff and ensure adherence to social media policy.
• Coordinate special projects as requested.
• Engagement in statewide committees as assigned.
Salary/Benefits:
$66,375.50 - $83,798.14
• The state provides a benefit allowance to offset health, dental, life and disability insurance premiums.
• The allowance ranges from $9,051.60 to $21,942.72, based upon the dependents.
• State paid teacher’s retirement pension and flexible benefits plan.
• Vacation leave, 15 days sick leave and 11 paid holidays.

Total salary and benefits package valued at $82,097.30 - $100,831.33.
Management Responsibility:
• Management experience to effectively supervise the staff in Communications and Marketing, Creative Services and Advanced Media.
• Responsible for hiring and termination decisions, scheduling and assigning work, evaluating employee performance, and contributing to decisions regarding promotions and pay.
Communication Skills:
• Requires ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, financial reports and legal documents as necessary.
• Possess the skill set to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
• Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of supervisors, customers, and the public.
• Clearly communicate technical concepts and insights to management.
Mathematical Skills:
• Capable of applying moderately complex mathematical equations as applicable. (For example: calculating discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages and volume, and applying concepts of basic algebra and geometry.)
Reasoning Skills:
• Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
• Capacity to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• Ability to analyze and interpret instructions, rules and policies.
• Operate with a high-level attention to detail.

• Requires valid state driver's license.
Physical Demands:
• Ability to lift 50 pounds with reasonable accommodation.
Work Environment:
• Position located in Stillwater, OK.
